1963 dodge polara 500 convertible 383 2 barrel V8

Actually I've made a mistake with this particular car. The 383 V8 was the standard engine for1962 Doge Polaras but some were fitted with a 426 Max Wedge II. And this car was one of them.

Here's the engine:

It's all in this book: The book includes production figure charts by model year, series, and body style. There were 28 Polara 500 convertibles built for the '63 model year. There were also 11 Max Wedge Polara convertibles built, and exactly one 330-series station wagon with this engine.

I'm watching NASCAR, so it inspired this one. Always wanted one. Tried to buy one of the first ones when I was in high school.

Me too! My parents wouldn't co-sign me for a loan. :rage:

I prefer the Hurst/Olds of that era.

What a gorgeous car. Too bad they were dogs. 180 horsepower.

My uncle is restoring an 1984 Cutlass with T-tops. He's making it a 442.

Lightning rods are certainly unique. I don't think they worked any better than the Dual Gate.

Yeah the horse power was a joke at that time. What is great in most states you can modify them now without worrying about inspection. Getting 250 hp out of one should be real easy.
