ozzy85
Those 383's were great engines. They punched way above their weight.

The 383 V8 was the standard engine for1962 Doge Polaras but some were fitted with a 426 Max Wedge II. And this car was one of them. Here's the engine: http://image.hotrod.com/f/70189955+q80+re0+cr1+ar0/1963-dodge-polaris-500-convertible-max-wedge-engine.jpg It's all in this book: The book includes production figure charts by model year, series, and body style. There were 28 Polara 500 convertibles built for the '63 model year. There were also 11 Max Wedge Polara convertibles built, and exactly one 330-series station wagon with this engine. http://image.hotrod.com/f/70189964+q80+re0+cr1+ar0/dodge-plymouth-413-426-by-the-numbers-book-cover.jpg

Too bad they were dogs. 180 horsepower. My uncle is restoring an 1984 Cutlass with T-tops. He's making it a 442.

What is great in most states you can modify them now without worrying about inspection. Getting 250 hp out of one should be real easy.
