HomesickAlien
14 May 2014Wednesday Black Widow Spider Black widows are notorious spiders identified by the colored, hourglass-shaped mark on their abdomens. Several species answer to the name, and they are found in temperate regions around the world. This spider's bite is much feared because its venom is reported to be 15 times stronger than a rattlesnake's. In humans, bites produce muscle aches, nausea, and a paralysis of the diaphragm that can make breathing difficult; however, contrary to popular belief, most people who are bitten suffer no serious damage—let alone death. But bites can be fatal—usually to small children, the elderly, or the infirm. Fortunately, fatalities are fairly rare; the spiders are non-aggressive and bite only in self-defense. http://i.imgur.com/nRKplGx.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/HiTXmFJ.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/WSb9bWv.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/Nkcpxy5.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/isLKAkZ.jpg

Their webs are very dense and don't look like the typical spider web - just a dense mass of silk. I don't handle spiders well... Eeek! HomesickAlien
17 May 2014Saturday We'll Make Great Pets Tarantulas have been a relatively popular pet for several years. They are unique, quiet, need little space, and keeping tarantulas as pets can make a fascinating hobby. However, they aren't the best choice as a pet to handle very much, largely due to stress and danger to the spider rather than danger to the handler. There are many species available in the pet trade in a variety of sizes and appearances, and they are usually easy to care for, but that depends a bit on the species. Because the needs for housing and care will vary for different species, it is important to understand the species being considered as a pet. . . http://exoticpets.ab...ntulasaspet.htm http://i.imgur.com/wPqU2hW.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/TWUjNe8.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/MVwns3C.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/bm9J9az.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/yM5f7Io.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/gXZnbO4.jpghttp://i.imgur.com/4YHGdGb.pnghttp://i.imgur.com/HcJfraR.jpg
