According to the stats we've never come back from a 20 point deficit and the Sehawks have never lost after establishing a 20 point lead. So we've had it!

I could give you an example of a team coming back from a 28 pt deficit but you probably wouldn't appreciate it...

This game is a disaster.

The 2011 Rams game was not as bad as this.

I'll defer to your sense as a fan. But considering the competition and the location of the game, I don't see how it couldn't have been any better. That Rams team was awful—almost Jet like.

This just seems worse because in that game we just laid an egg, we could have played a hell of a lot better. Here I don't think we can do anything about it, we're just being outplayed in every area.

I'll give you that. Losing a game you should have won is a lot worse to me than getting blown out in this type of game but I can see where you're coming from.

The way we're playing here we're gonna get owned by the Panthers too, who are very similar team with a tough defense and another running QB who can make plays with his arm and we have to play them twice...

Well, one of the games is at home (which will make a huge difference), and the Panthers aren't exactly known for their rabid fanbase or intimidating HFA.

We're on a short week even though we'll be at home and after this shellacking.

That makes it tough. It gives Rivera more time to study his 2 pt chart.

The Panthers aren't as good as the media makes out, they've just eked out the close games they usually lose like the Falcons have done in the last few years. 10-9 against the 49ers who didn't score a TD or any points in the second half and the ones they squeaked out against the Pats and the Fins.

True, the media always overreact. On the other hand, in their losses they weren't blown out (except for, inexplicably, the Cardinals). Then again, they get an off week before they play you a second time.

We'll probably split the games but there's a chance we lose on Sunday if we don't recover from this debacle.

So presuming you split with the Panthers and end up tied with them, who wins the division on tiebreakers?

We've got the tiebreaker, our other losses are against AFC teams, the Panthers 3 losses include 2 losses to NFC teams.

Gotcha. So you still have to be favored pretty heavily.

I think so, but I'm not confident after watching that game.

Sorry, ducky, not gonna be around tonight. Kid has a band concert so I'm taping the game and watching it tomorrow.

Enjoy the game, and Mr. Gruden...
