Wow, even vague than Robert Plant's comments... which means people will probably read even MORE into it! :P

I read that as "I'm in"...they're throwing chum in the in the water for a reason

Perhaps. To assume anything at this point, however, would be letting hope and imagination run away with you. At least IMHO...

 Goobs, you're so negative!

How did such a positive guy get to be so negative?

He's always been positively negative. I try not to read too many of his posts for fear of losing my will to live.

:eh:

Oops, did I forget to :poke:?

Some of your posts should come with the warning 'Reading may cause despair and exasperation.'

I'm just extremely honest and effusive. When I love something, you really know it. When I hate something, you really know it. When I have an opinion, it's pretty blatant. No guesswork involved! :P

We know Goobs, we know :D-13: Still, these guys know how to crank the PR machine...this has all the makings of something big.

Can you stop thinking big Goobs?

I don't know. Jason Bonham responded to what Plant had to say on his FACEBOOK page and news agencies picked it up. Hardly a PR machine being cranked. You make it sound like some vast pre-meditated conspiracy to plant (pun intended) the seed of a reunion in the collective sub-conscious so then they can later announce it officially. But why? To increase ticket sales? They'd have to play an arena every single day for the next 5 years before there'd be an empty seat no matter how they announce it.

Seriously though, if you want to get excited about some seemingly off the cuff remarks, feel free. It just seems very speculative and sketchy at best to me. Not trying to be negative, just realistic.

Not trying to be negative—just realistic. Plant can still sing dude—you have been VVVVERRRRRYYYYYY negative nancy about him being able to sing anything. Honest and effusive bubba!

Yes, but am I wrong? ;)

Uhhhh yes..being wrong is a tendency you exhibit with profound regularity :codger:

Ok, we'll have to agree to disagree. Enjoy seeing Led Zeppelin on their imaginary tour where Robert Plant sounds great (hint: time traveling back to the 70's will be necessary). :P

The funny thing is, when I first read Mullet's post, my first thought was, "when do I ever pick on Geddy? i LOVE Geddy!" Then I remembered that she must be referring to my comments on his vocals live from the last few years.

See, in my mind I LOVE rush and the boys tremendously. I guess for me the fact that there are a SMALL number of their albums I don't like and the fact that I think Geddy's voice has deteriorated live in recent years (which is objectively true) is a small thing compared to my overall love of Rush and most of their albums. I guess for others they like to single those aspects out and wonder if I like Rush. Feel free if you need to do that, but as far as I'm concerned they're my favorite band and they just put out a really amazing album. :ebert:

Ooops, my bad! I just searched google and apparently it's been confirmed that Led Zeppelin indeed ARE reforming with a new album and world tour planned. Insiders who've heard rehearsals say Plant is in top form and has never sounded better. Here's a link to the article:

And c'mon Tombstone, you didn't think this post was even mildly amusing? :P

Here's a nugget that I must have missed...at one time Jimmy was pretty keen on the idea. Sounded just a bit miffed that Plant was enjoying success with Alison Krauss:

Jimmy Page: Led Zeppelin Reunion Tour Never Happened Because Robert Plant 'Was Busy'

It turns out that Led Zeppelin fans weren't alone in thinking the group's 2007 triumphant reunion concert at London's O2 Arena would lead to a tour. "Some of us thought we would be continuing, that there were going to be more concerts in the not-too-distant-future," Jimmy Page tells Rolling Stone Senior Writer David Fricke in the new issue, on stands Friday. "Because there was a lot of work being put into the show."

Ultimately, Robert Plant had no interest in carrying on. "He was busy," says Page. "He was doing his Alison Krauss project. I wasn't fully aware it was going to be launched at the same time. So what do you do in a situation like that? I'd been working with the other two guys for the percentage of the rehearsals at the O2. We were connecting well. The weakness was that none of us sang."

With Plant out of the picture, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and drummer Jason Bonham continued rehearsing together in early 2008. "We didn't do any professional recording," says Page. "We just had a little digital recorder. I thought it was good. I wasn't going to walk away from it. But the weakness came up again. It was, 'We gotta have a singer.'"

The idea of a tour was batted around, but Page refuses to divulge the full list of singers who jammed with the group. Alter Bridge frontman Myles Kennedy has publicly acknowledged rehearsing with the group, and Page doesn't deny that. "It sounded premature," he says. "I could see what way it was going. Various people thought we should go on tour. I thought we needed a good, credible album, not do something that sounded like we were trying to milk the O2."

Steven Tyler has also said he flew to England to jam with the band. "The timing wasn't the best," says Page. "We had put so much toward the O2. And the three of us were catching up with stuff. It was very good, seriously promising. But there was this other thing going on. [Pauses] And that's it."

Update:

Richard Branson offered the guys $500 million to get together again—reportedly Plant balked at the idea, while Jones and Page were thumbs up on the offer. Plant is too blame, the bastard.

That was confirmed to be bullshit. And if it was true, I'm glad he supposedly said no.
