San Diego's 13 time championship soccer team makes USA Sports History with 41 CONSECUTIVE WINS.

The Sockers passed the previous long winning streak in U.S. history (40), set by the Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football from 2005-08.

The indoor soccer team is now at 43 straight victories and counting.

My son and I attended the gamehttp://i815.photobucket.com/albums/zz77/tanhuntland/205569_10200148750429299_1229890476_n.jpg

Cool that you could share this moment with your son. I take it from his t-shirt he's a Rush fan and may have even attended a concert with you, which would also be awesome.

I found taking my son (who's 16 now) to see the CA tour a wonderful bonding experience we'll both remember for the rest of our lives...

That reminds of the times I watched my Chicago Sting back in the '80s and I believe the Sockers were one the opponents back then. How did they manage to last so long? Great pictures!

Yes, I took both of my sons to their first RUSH show a couple weeks ago.....an epic honor for a father.

But do you remember the WHA's Chicago Cougars and San Diego Mariners?

Now there was a rivalry. I remember my parents taking me down to the old Chicago Amphitheater for a game and that I had a Cougar sticker on a mirror in my bedroom for a couple of years.

I'm afraid my adventure with American soccer begins with the Sting and Karl-Heinz Granitza. :)

You mean the broadcast signal for Channel 44 (WSNS-TV) didn't reach all the way across the pond?

The Cougars weren't that good, though, and I can't remember any of their players, only the sticker.

Get Smart and Leave it to Beaver...good times. And don't forget about the Banana Splits in the 3:30 time slot, right after Magilla Gorilla if memory serves. Or was Speed Racer first?

Did you order the Kenny Rogers Quick Pickin' Fun Strummin' guitar lessons?

I didn't buy any of that stuff. When I look back I should have bought Husker Du, the memory game so I can remember what was on after Get Smart (or was it before Get Smart).

I do remember the WGN lineup of I Dream of Jeannie at 5, Hogan's Heroes at 5:30, Andy Griffith at 6, and Dick van Dyke at 6:30.

Tragedy tomorrow, comedy tonight...

I was fortunate to witness times when Jeannie was on twice a day on WGN. I used to record the episodes on my tape recorder. When I was on vacation in Cocoa Beach, people would laugh at the kid walking around town, with the audio of the show blasting away. :)

However, most of the best parts of I Dream of Jeannie were less noticeable on audio; they had to be seen to be enjoyed...

Cleveland Crusaders v.s. New England Whalers that was the W.H.A rivalry, I remember fondly always some heavy duty brawls when these two met!! Use to be into indoor soccer when the Cleveland Force played at the old Richfield Coliseum, they would get 17,000 there. Only winning team in Cleveland at the time, playoff time always had high hopes they would win MISL title just couldn't get past those damn Baltimore Blast.. Locally Canton had a pro indoor soccer team called the Invaders they also use to sell out the Canton civic center and dominated the league winning the AISA titles 1984-86. Really enjoyed the sport back then, helped when your teams usually were good also.
