D3strukt
On the next album. Rush tend to do things in 3's for the most part. Assuming they follow this trend, I wouldn't mind the expanded strings. And personally, from what i've seen of videos, I think the strings really add a damn nice element that's been missing from Rush. I vote for them to permanently tour with a small string section.
drbirdsong
The strings on Clockwork Angels were very well done and I wouldn't say no to a repeat, but I doubt that will happen. Maaaaaaybe a song or two, but I would be surprised.
losingit2k
I'm all for it. Clockwork Angels came out awesome. There is no reason why they couldn't have a repeat and explore the genre even deeper.
The Cat 3
I think it would be great!
NYM86
I went to the show in Philadelphia and thought they were kind of cheesy as-is tbh.
presto123
Strings did a nice job of filling the role that keys would have on this record. Texture and atmosphere. I would love more strings on the next record but better yet why not just bring back the keys in a big way? Seems the logical thing to do being that they are playing a big 80's set right now. Imaginos
If you want Rush music with strings... I saw on the Prog Magazine website that The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's are to release a tribute to Rush album featuring Arian Smith of Iron Maiden and Marillion's Steve Rothery making guest appearances. http://www.progrockmag.com/news/rush-or ... e-rothery/
Bangster of Goats
The strings came out sounding nice, though I initially had reservations when I first heard they would be on the album. That said... the strings were nice for a change of pace, but I'd rather they bring synths back into play more and let the strings be one of CA's sonic signatures. I wanna hear Ged do some new Moog solos.
