MJH
He will use fender's only....I Would just love to see him do a song or two with the Rick 4001,or the black dbl.neck!! it's like seeing an old friend... the wal and steinberger,I.M.O...were just horrible sounding live. Del_Duio
Gotta say the '72, I think it's fused to him nowadays. It's great, but I would love to see the Wal or maybe a brand new bass for this tour. The Wal's sound might not sound as good for the CA stuff though.
dakota2112
QUOTE (Del_Duio @ Aug 2 2012, 11:35 AM) Gotta say the '72, I think it's fused to him nowadays. Use the Wal for songs recorded on a Wal. Simple as that (although using vastly different basses might be a technical nightmare... I'm sure it's simpler to have everything in his signal chain configured and EQ'd for Fenders and Fenders only)
dayglow76
Go look at any online music dealer and you will see the only Geddy fender bass being offered now is a new sunburst model with a maple neck. I can almost guarantee this will reflect what he plays on this tour. The brown sunburst fits in perfectly with the "steampunk" look they are going for. And remember kids, like I always say, steampunk is what happened when goths discovered the color brown. Edited August 5, 2012 by dayglow76

Tombstone Mountain
Gedd Is s known to apologize to his Fender that was made into the teardrop. I think he brings that one out for the whole tour...to make up for the disfiguring he allowed to happen.
New Digital Man
QUOTE (Sticklight @ Jul 30 2012, 11:12 AM) Geddy didn't use a precision on Headlong Flight, It's his Jazz bass. According to his interview on Bass Player Magazine, the basses he used on the record are J-Basses. http://www.cygnus-x1.net/links/rush/bass-player-08.2012.php I think he will use his main '72 with the new neck and pickguard. This interview tells you everything you need to know about Geddy's current basses and gear including the fact that there could be some surprises on the tour!!
