The brony movement has to be the single most retarded thing of the past decade

Oh really, stupider than Rebecca Black, Nyan Cat, or OWS?

At least Bronies have redeeming and real basis for their fandom besides irony or just plain stupidity

I don't really think that legitimately being a fan of a show directed at 6 year old girls falls outside of "plain stupidity"

Uh, excuse me?

You obviously form your arguments on sheer thickness.

The executive producer herself even said it was aimed at both children and the adults who watch it with the children. Both genders.

Yeah, I think you should do a little more research before telling me about my own fandom.

Just stating facts.

Trust me, I deal with plenty of your types of people a day, and yet I still proudly wear my bronyhood. I've gone on the radio for it, I'm even writing a novel relating to it. I don't hide it, but I love correcting the idiots who always feel its their place to judge it because I know they'll always be there in mass quantities.

The point is even if you think a guy liking the show is stupid, it actually means something to me, so whether or not you think it's stupid, that's your own opinion.

The fact that you insult a person who likes it is just cold considering that you can't judge anyone's likes just by a title.

All I can say is that yes I like My Little Pony and I wear it proudly because you know what? The show makes me damned happy, and if you don't like that, you can just go cry about the fact that people like a show you don't think is "mature" or "manly."

I can't believe I have to explain myself to you.

FYI....that shit is about the farthest from "manly" as possible. It's a show for little girls, pal..

You know, kids have gotten kicked out of their show for liking the show. Is that fair?

Kids get bullied for being open about it, which is why there are "Closet" bronies. Is that fair?

You know, you might think you know all, but you really don't. You ignore facts just like any other bigot.

Therefore, sir, your argument is invalid.

OP has some terms that, while possibly not intended to be homophobic here, often are. Not funny smilies-8579.png

And too much swearing in both. The occasional curse for emphasis is fine. This is way over the top. smilies-8579.png

But if you guys like it and it takes over the board, I guess I need to find a new place to be a Rush fan.

I am trying to get this whole thread removed because it has no need to be here.

Obviously most people are against it and you know what, I'm fine with it getting deleted.

However, I have no clue how to delete it and the report button is broken.

That makes more sense, I was more wondering what you meant by "kicked out of their show for liking the show"

Sorry, wasn't paying attention to what I'm typing, lots of things on the mind.

Therefore, sir, your argument is invalid.

There's a scale, from 1 to 100. On the left side, starting at 1, you've got stuff for little kids - like, three year olds. Sesame Street. Barney. On the right side, up at 100, you've got porn. Super hardcore porn. Stuff no kid should ever be allowed to see under any circumstances.

My Little Pony, in any incarnation, is a fking TWO. Unless you're a father watching it with a little kid, there is no reason for you to be watching it. You say it makes you happy... you know what else makes people happy? Sex. And if you're an adult, you're able to have it. Go. Have it. Leave the little girl cartoons to the little girls. Because honestly, you're creeping people out. It's not normal no matter how much you want it to be or how many justifications you can come up with (sorry, the producer embracing a larger audience isn't valid. She's doing that because it means more money for the show. That's all.)

Now, there's two more points here. First, is it right that kids get bullied over this? No. But it's understandable. They might as well wear a dress and makeup to school. Nobody should get beaten up over this, but at least *try* to be realistic here.

Second, I swear to god if you honestly equate people making fun of bronies with bigotry, there's something broken in your head. Minorities have been spat upon, segregated and literally lynched in this country by bigots, and your love of a cartoon for little girls isn't in the same ballpark - it's not even the same fking sport, to borrow a phrase.

Come back down to earth. It's a fine quality show. I've seen it. My 6 year old daughter and my 3-next-month son both enjoy it. And they'll both outgrow it, as they're supposed to. You should give that a try.

You don't get it, and neither does that kid, who in the comments says he's 15. That kid's parents don't hate bronies or ponies or any of that. They hate that their 15 year old son, who should be growing up, is so in love with a little girl's cartoon that he was willing to leave home over it.

Don't you see how fked up that is? This kid, this teenaged KID was willing to leave home OVER A CARTOON. That's not normal! That's not something to pity! He didn't leave home because his parents beat him, he's not leaving because of a drug habit or even for the love of a girl - he's staying at a friend's house because... he really, really likes My Little Pony.

That's fked up, dude. No way around it. Sorry.

You know what? I'd get kicked out too. Do you understand how abusive that parenthood is, for not allowing a child to like what he likes?

My buddy Josh's parents force him into Christianhood. It's complete mental abuse, and my friend Josh is the most depressed kid around.

And it's not just him, I know other people.
