If the gas station nearest to your house sells any or all of the following items, you may live in the ghetto.. tongue.gif biggrin.gif

1. sandwich baggies in a 50 bag box or baggies removed from the box and sold in smaller denominations

2. Digital pocket "mail" scales

3. a whole display of various flavored "cigar" wraps

4. Olde English, Cobra, Private Stock, Colt 45, and Mickeys.. all offered in "3 for" deals

5. Dice

6. Boiled Peanuts

7. Rolling papers from every company that has ever made rolling papers.. In every size cool10.gif

8. Glass pipes in a case with a sign that reads "for tobaco use only" .. yes, I know i misspelled tobacco.. but that is what the sign read.

9. Racks and racks of porn.. Mags, VHS,DVD.. also offered in a "3 for" deal

10. lucies.. for those not hip, individually sold cigarettes..

11. 5 different brands of pork rinds

I live 3 miles from this BP gas station and I run into Vanilla Ice every other month or at the Good Year auto repair just behind it. What i don't get it's ALL gated communities around here including mine. confused13.gif

Peace

Replace the alcohol with the rack near the register containing 47 different brands of condoms and I think I was at that gas station, only it was right outside of Harrisburg.

your gas station may be in the ghetto when the cashier and ALL the products being sold are behind bullet proof glass so thick that there are microphones and speakers in place for communicating with the cashier; and transaction of both items and money happens via a metal box under the counter.

I have 3 more.

They sell single flowers that have a glass tube at the end of the stem. Purchasers discard the flower and smoke rocks with the tube.

After dark, do they not allow you in the store at all and force you to order through a walk up window?

Do they have a BBQ grill in the parking lot on the weekends cooking up chicken and pork?

Almost every gas station I know sells sandwich bags in the 50 and 100 size....and I'm 99% certain I don't live in the ghetto.

Read carefully. You can buy 50 or 100 bags. But can you buy 5 instead??

Several gas stations in Georgia sell boiled peanuts (often spelled "p-nuts", gotta love Southern semi-literacy) and five brands of pork rinds. Not ghetto, but redneck.

Last year I was in Georgia and I got a package of boiled peanuts just to see what they tasted like. I was expecting them to be gross but I kind of liked them...

I haven't come across this in years because, well, I'm 36 and married with children so I rarely go out after dark wink.gif

...but when I was a younger man, if I was out late in an unfamiliar area, if I ever saw a store that made people line up outside of it, I kept driving. No way I was getting out of my car in a location that was so concerned about employee safety that they couldn't let people in the store.
