Probably one of the most overlooked prog/spacerock bands are hawkwind (you may recall silver machine?).

ive been a huge fan of this band since the 70s and "space ritual"is one of the greatest live albums ever.

Listening to hawkwind is like getting high but without the dope,do we have any other hawk cadets on here?

Great band. A mind-melting mix of krautrock, psychedelia & boogie. And drugs.

 

Tel, did you see the documentary on BBC4? Superb. No Brock though, he wouldn't take part due to Nik Turner's presence.....old men still fighting. Rock'n'roll!

yep, saw the doc and it prompted me to start this thread.

Shame lemmy doesnt remember the band with much fondness,mind you lemmy cant remember further than last week (fondly or otherwise).

shocked to hear they influenced johnny rottens musical path, i would of thought this was everything he would hate.

Definitely one of the most underated bands ever,
