does anyone know the name of the song they were performing in the school gym?

it is uncredited in the documentary and as far as I know isn't on any album.

Even at that early stage in their musical endeavors, they were already a "polished" band.

I believe the two songs played in that scene were Fancy Dancer and Garden Road.

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

I don't think it's either of those. I'm talking about the song they do after John Rutsey introduces the band members. maybe it was in the school auditorium instead of the gym.

thanks for the response

"Best I Can" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-yqUspyYaU8

and

"Working Man" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vB6sRQQBH6E&NR=1

nope, neither of those either. like I said before, Rutsey introduces the band members by name just before they do the song i'm talking about, and they don't do the entire song.

How much of a Rush fan would I be if I didn't know Working Man? biggrin.gif

He's talking about the song where John Rutsey asks the audience to clap their hands along.

"welcome back to the Laura Secord Secondary School!"

very similar to 'Need Some Love'...

It could very well be Need Some Love because that was listed as one of the songs used in the film during the credits...and not to mention, I could audibly hear Geddy singing the words "Need Some Love" somewhere in there. But why would they perform a completely different version of Need Some Love if the self titled debut album was already released by that time? Afterall, John Rutsey hinted that the album was already released but this had be before Donna Halper discovered Rush. Then again, I could be wrong and the footage of John Rutsey might be one of his lasts gigs after Halper discovered them.
