'Bond' news from Dame Judi Dench

Thanks to CHUD (They got this from the New York Post, so take it with a grain of salt.)

 

When asked who will be replacing Pierce Brosnan as James Bond in the upcoming 'Casino Royale', Dame Judi Dench (who is the latest to portray 'M' in the franchise) replied: "Nobody".

 

"[D]espite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, he'll be doing it again, and it'll be announced come summer," said the dame.

 

It would be interesting for Eon to go back to Brosnan, since when I spoke to him about After the Sunset it was sort of obvious from his body language and tone that he was disappointed to be set aside the way he was.

 

Of course it's possible that Judi Dench has no idea what the hell she's talking about. It wouldn't be the first time an actor was spouting off about behind the scenes stuff they aren't involved in, and it certainly wouldn't be the first time the New York Post quoted someone wrong - that quote could well have been preceded by Judi saying that she hopes despite the fact, etc etc etc.

 

Either way, the identity of James Bond in Casino Royale is going to have to be made public sooner rather than later.

Pierce Brosnan will play James Bond in the next 007 film, co-star Dame Judi Dench has revealed

 

 

The 51-year-old will reprise his role as the suave secret agent in Casino Royale, she said.

 

'Despite the fact that everyone on the face of the Earth has been tested as his possible replacement, Pierce will be doing it again,' added Dench, who plays M in the movies.

 

'It will be announced come the summer.'

KICK ASS. I am sure she knows just how incredibly Pierce Brosnen fits into the role of Bond and probably got all the actors together to not be apart of the movie unless Brosnen is in it. Very good news

Agreed there. And I think Judi Dench does well in her role. She's a great actress. Absolutely incredible in Mrs. Brown. I miss Q, also.

Yeah, Brosnan is easily the second best Bond ever (for me that is, I place the inimitable Connery in first). I hope this is true.
