That would thin it up a bit, and lessen the layering assault as you mentioned.

hmm I'm a fan of Vapour Trails, but the mastering is rubbish - why the guys gave the ok for the album to be released like that is anyones guess.

 

If you're one of the people saying you can't hear the popping - listen to Secret Touch - it is probably the worst of the lot. Thankfully it is given justice during live performances.
