TELEVELOCITY

The northern lights in this longing space

will not be avalible once more

this section of velocity

will not be interprized for its trace

all the stars seem to soar

this is a beguinnig and the city

the stars all seem to move

Capture everything from a canopy of fanatics

to the world of the cyber space

computers all try to find the sense of news

and t.vs all try to find pictures in static

the world and its race

of humans in the truth

of the lights of the storm

can you be my last remaining light

and we can stay together

this world of loons and dolphins cries

will stay in that dimension

imagine a world full of light

this world of ice and snow

with a sense of fullness

can you begin

this is a world of paradise

and you can be lit in this darkened soul

of a large solar colloseum

this is my light i share

loons in a pixelated counterpart dimension

cry to me... ( at this time, loons will call over extreme static.)

The northern lights in this longing space

will not be avalible once more

this section of velocity

will not be interprized for its trace

all the stars seem to soar

this is a beguinnig and the city

the stars all seem to move...

like it?

This one is a little darker, and i wrote it today.

Inconsistent.

Inconsistent, you say.

Discontent, he sighs.

Ignorant, why can't you just...

So damn ignorant.

You are

Inconsistent

Egotistic.

So persistent, you are.

With your nagging.

Won't you quit it,

Quit your rambling.

You are

Numb.

It's clear you don't understand

How I play with

Words.

It's clear you don't understand

The real criminal

Herds.

It's clear you don't understand

So damn clear.

Crystal clear.

So obscure,

So damn clear.

Sheep in wolves' clothing you are

Inconsistent.

Beggar with a pretty face you arre

Inconsistent.

I don't want to see you are

Inconsistent.

Juggling, you are.

Crumbling, you are.

Inconsistent.

By the way, i'd like to point out that when opened doors are closed contains a shakespearean sonnet as the bridge. While it is not a true Shakespearean sonnet (it is only lacking in iambic pentameter) I am rather proud I was able to successfully integrate it into a prog rock song new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

You've definitely got the skill, the talent, and the knack.

But this esoteric delivery requires an ardent fan-base, a devoted scholarship, that may have worked back in the day when poetry was the main method of delivery. Today, in the context of movies and reviews and blogs and up-to-the-minute news and constant social connection, do you want to still deliver in this style?

Maybe yes, and if so, your choice.

In other words, great potential and depth, but who do you expect your audience to be?

I do expect my audience to read it over several times, and I do expect them to actually analyze how the lyrics work with the music. Our album is called Inverses, and one song (I'll post lyrics up later) follows a waltz pattern...except the opposite, representing Inverses. Instead up a strong opening note followed by two softer ones, it is two softer ones and a strong one.

The entire album is full of stuff like this, and the songs have little moments that go with what is being said. We plan on taking a lot of time to make the album, but we hope it's well worth it.

And we're going to be progressive pretty much, and the prog audience tends to analyze lyrics to a certain depth, so that's generally the audience I hope to appeal to.

Edited to say that I know I sometimes force those "big" words out. It's one of my weaknesses in my writing in general. I need to learn how to use them sparingly and in a more effective manner. And plus, singing them is a mouthful! But it's a bit easier since I'm going for the MJK approach, and kind of singing in a muffled voice or something weird and singing the nicer easier parts with a true musical voice.

Running an awful lot

Feet swimming through sullen soil

Hacking away

Hacking away at an open knot

Network of nothing loyal

Eagles symbolize freedom

But how is that?

It's the only thing we think of

Lightning's omnipotent

But how is that?

All it strikes cannot be seen

A mirror shows reflection

But how is that?

It reflects nothing

Windmills tilting

Keep slashing

Windmills tilt at me

Keep hacking

To get to the bottom

Computers collect data

But how is that?

All it stores is lost

A golden ring is love

But how is that?

It's just a sparkling circle

Ignorance is bliss

But how is that?

We know nothing...

Are we still blissful?

Looking in the mirror

Hearing thunder,

Watching through reflection, I see

An eagle soars by

Lightning strikes it down blindly

Just a chemical change...

I like these lyrics. Somehow, in my head, I hear YES-like music moving these lyrics along.

Wow, you're kind of right. The music I thought up for this one sounds like venture by yes.

It starts with piano and then becomes an "inverse" waltz. Two soft notes then a loud thumping one, and so on. It's a little darker, but besides that it is very yes inspired.

Sipping, sighing, slipping

Slowly dying, sleeping

Can you breathe alone, alive?

A life derived and compromised

Unidentied castles of sand in the snow

Are you glorified by gory show? she says no.

I long to be with you

Breathe in air so pure

But you want the emptiness to consume you...please

As you devour this little fire with ease

Unclassified breeze amongst the willows

Are you petrified? Stones in the pillows

I long to keep you safe

Make you heir to my...

Indifferent emptiness, that feeds you your conscious

Feigning ignorance, darling do you hold me precious?

Let me in, won't you, let me in?

Hold me, old me, scold me, cold me

Now! Darling you can...breathe...
