Sark
When I saw them on the last tour, they played from everything except Presto. Any of you lucky enough to see them play with a changed setlist on this tour?
ALifeson85
When I saw them last summer, I noticed the same thing. After the show was over, I thought to myself..."Wait...why do i feel that there was something missing from that show?" (Granted it was KICK-ASS show, anyway, like always...), and then i figured it out, "Oh...they didnt do anything from Presto, did they? Hmm. Oh well. THE SHOW STILL ROCKED!", and indeed it did. But yea...I think they left Presto out on the last tour for some reason. I would have thought they would have at least brought back Show Don't Tell. Oh well, we'll see what happens NEXT tour... -Matt
Slaine mac Roth
Considering the number of albums they had to cover, perhaps Presto just slipped through the net.
Pags
Yes I find that interesting as well. 3 from RTB, but 0 from Presto. Not complaining, the 3 from RTB are a MUST to hear, imo. Still, felt a twang of disappointment when the only references to Presto could be found in the 1st and 2nd act intro movies, and a tiny one in Darn That Dragon. GhostGirl
QUOTE (Sark @ Apr 6 2005, 04:07 AM) When I saw them on the last tour, they played from everything except Presto. Any of you lucky enough to see them play with a changed setlist on this tour? They didn't change the setlist at all, for any show, much to our disappointment. But, I still saw them three times. softfilter
When i saw them at blossom music center at Cuyahoga Falls Ohio, I'm certain they played THE PASS from PRESTO on the R30 tour.

Welcome to the forum!! This would be the first I've heard of them doing material from Presto, or changing the lineup at all for the R30 show. From what I've read they kept the setlist intact throughout the entire tour. Which, btw, must have been hard!! There have been multiple interviews where ALL of them have mentioned how refreshing it is to change a song or two during the tour. Keeps doing the show over and over from getting stale or boring. If they played The Pass during your show, you are too lucky!!

Are you sure? According to the 2 bootlegs from that show, http://www.digitalrushexperience.com/datab...RecordingID=954 and http://www.digitalrushexperience.com/datab...ecordingID=1602, The Pass is not on the setlist. They played that song on the VT tour. Are you sure you aren't thinking about that tour?
Midway Hawker
I think the mix from the VT tour to the R30 tour was excellent.. VT they played The Pass but nothing from HYF. R30 they played Force 10, but nothing from Presto. VT they played New World Man, R30 they played Subdivisions. VT they played Distant Early Warning, R30 they played Between the Wheels! VT they played Big Money, R30 they played Mystic Rythems. VT they played LTTA, R30 they played Animate.... and so on and so on.... If you got to see both tours, you got a great mix of songs.. yyzyy
I only wish they played something from Presto. Right now, it is my favourtie album, but it's liable to change depending on my mood...That's the way I am, I have different favourties at different points in time...Anyway, getting back to the story, I wish they would have played something from Presto...What would you want to hear from Presto? I would want to hear either Chain Lightning, or Presto (also The Pass, but they played that on the VT tour, since I've heard and seen that already, I'd prefer something new). Arndrake
I'd like them to do War Paint, one of my favorites from Presto. Problem is it may be too difficult as there are quite a few extra instrument tracks and backing vocals.
yyzyy
Andrake...They played War Paint during the Presto tour...So they oculd probably play it again...That was the song that the inflatable rabbits make their debut!! That's actually another I'd like to see live...War Paint!
sfuentes
I believe that they don't sit down and actually say "Okay, so for this tour we'll leave out Caress Of Steel and Hold Your Fire." I just think that they choose to play what sounds good to them.

rickyrob
THE PASS! Where was it? I'd have preferred this to Bravado, as a similar kind of song.
Arndrake
I just finished listening to Presto again. It does seem to be one of their softer and more melancholy albums. Since their direction seems to be toward harder stuff and away from keyboards, maybe that's why they shy away from songs from Presto when doing their setlists. Some of the songs on the album are just a bit depressing. I love Presto, but I'm not sure I would want to feel like slitting my wrists at a concert.
