CygnusX-1Bk2
Gibson has a history of innovation. But innovation for innovation's sake has never worked for them. Innovation out of necessity or artistic expression is another thing completely. The solid body guitar designed by Les Paul out of his necessity and quest for a new sound was innovative. Putting a center block into hollow bodies to reduce feedback was a necessity for louder amplifiers. Ceramic guitars, not so much (though some companies picked up on this idea; Jackson/Charvel). Odd shapes never caught on when they were developed. It took almost 20 years for V's and Explorers to become popular, thanks to KISS. The robot is an interesting idea, but it's too early. The Dusk Tiger is the 4th guitar in the robot line. They were closer with the original robot Les Paul and then the SG.
