Songs that don't seem to have odd meters at first

Genesis - Keep It Dark (in 3/2 time of all things unsure.gif)

Genesis - Turn It On Again (13/4, or 4/4 - 4/4 - 5/4)

Peter Gabriel - Solsbury Hill (7/4)

The Beatles - Here Comes The Sun (weird-ass passage that I never counted tongue.gif)

Jimi Hendrix - Manic Depression (9/8)

Can you guys think of any others?

Before I actually counted, I never thought there to be time signature changes in Subdivisions. scared.gif In fact, as you guys probably already know, there is a section in 7/4, 4/4 and 3/4. It's just so seamless...

If anyone happens to listen to late 80s Floyd (nobody does! rage.gif) the song from ALMOR, "On The Turning Away" has a time sig. change that I never realized before until recently when I was covering the song. An example verse:

4/4 : Unaware how the ranks have grown

4/4 : Driven on by a heart of stone

5/4 : We could find that we're all alone in the

4/4 : dream of the proud.

Never actually noticed it until I counted.

Pretty much the only song's time I cant figure out:Temple of the Dog-Pushin Forward Back. Anybody know it?

Pushin Forward Back is in 7/8.

Living In The Past by Jethro Tull is in 5/8 and flows pretty smoothly.

Genesis seems to be the master of the sneaky meter... I've always known that the intro to Cul-de-Sac is in 7/4, but I finally realized that the choruses have an odd pattern as well (4/4 - 4/4 - 2/4)

I also forgot to mention that Robbery, Assault, and Battery has some extremely well-flowing 13/8. The intro to Chamber of 32 Doors is in 5/4 of all things...

Black Dog by Led Zeppelin has some really weird patterns and syncopation. Two Suns in the Sunset has really smooth 9/8 in the intro and other places, and the verses go 4/4 - 4/4 - 7/8.

Many others... I'll save them for you guys. wink.gif
