MCM
I can't say that I'm a fan of them, but that is one band that is on my list to look into. I've read a lot about them and keep meaning to get into their music. What's the best one to start with?
jesterhud
I'm a huge fan, seen them about a dozen times or so,, since the late 80's. I never have understood why they are not so big in the USA, the US is a country that likes its rock music and that is what Quo are, good old fashioned rock, if you like AC/DC , Rush, or stuff like that then you would like Quo, considering they sold over 100 million records, had more hit singles in the UK than any other band and opened Live Aid in 1985 it surprises me they are unknown there, They might be getting on a bit (but arent most good bands nowadays...) but they put on one hell of a live show, they are loud and just rock out for 2hours. Probably best to start with the best of double cd they put out recently - Status Quo - Pictures: 40 Years of Hits Otherwise for a standard album then it has to be 'Hello'. Looking forward to the Uk tour at the end of the year.

Hatchetaxe&saw
HUGE QUO FAN HERE! Legends. Seen 'em 7 times in the last 6 months and 3 more planned. Their mid 80's to late '90's stuff is utter bilge(even the band think so), but the majority of their stuff from 70 to 81 is just great rock'n'roll. Start off with Hello!, it's got Caroline, the beautiful Claudie, Roll Over Lay Down and the monumental 4500 Times. Let's Rock! I'm listening to the 17 minute Milton Keynes version as I type. Check out Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon from 1970. Blues rock in excelsis.

naturalsciences101
I haven't gotten around to the Quo yet, Sport. But, maybe yer familiar with a few bands in the same ballpark who've got my figs in a bunch as of late. Wishbone Ash? Right? How about Atomic Rooster? Yes? Maybe Greenslade? Perhaps? RUSHHEAD666
QUOTE (Natural Rush @ May 23 2009, 01:13 PM) Ok maybe the 3 chords only would put people off being a fan but are there any Status Quo fans on here ? Hahaha! I have to say NO TO THE QUO!! Every song really does sound the same and they have a shitload of albums out. Good for them, but sorry, I tried. I dumped all of their cd remasters! The band drove me INSANE!! I even watched a Quo Blu-Ray to see if I could really get into these guys. It wasn't bad, but eventually the monotony wore on my brain. I had to eject the Blu-Ray and dump it in my Sell Pile.

Hatchetaxe&saw
Simple. Deceptive. And live, they kick arse. You cannot leave the venue without a big dumbass grin on your face and sweatier than a docker's armpit.
