This will probably go down as one of the best movie scenes ever.

Coin Toss

I was on the edge of my seat throughout that whole scene....what a fantastic scene!!!!

Good choice 1-0-0-1-0-0-1!!!

Speaking of that, there was a line I saw the other day in that movie that I somehow missed but thought was great..

"This is a mess, eh sheriff?"

"If not it'll do 'till a mess gets here..."

Brilliant.

Yep. And in a movie with very little comedy, one line always makes me laugh:

Sheriff Bell: [pours coffee from pot, notices it might not be too fresh] "How fresh is this coffee?"

Ellis: "I generally make a fresh pot every week, even if there's some left over."

That movie was slap full of one liners...or so I seem to remember.

I like shows from that era.

Almost as creepy as the horror is the fact that McCloud over there was drinking martinis naked in the tub with his daughter around .. wow.

Did you ever see Duel? That was also VERY scary and suspenseful!!! Very early Steven Speilberg pic... in fact, theres an homage to it in Back To The Future.

Given the cast, it's "Rhoda" meets "McCloud" meets "Rosemarys Baby" meets "Poltergeist".

For creepy made-for-TV '70s-'80s horror flicks, it starts and ends with....

And lets not forget the ending!  WOW.

We can post pretty much every scene from Dr. Strangelove.

That occurred to me. Every scene is a classic. Two come to mind, the little chat Sterling Hayden has with Sellers, and also those scenes with Geroge C. Scott and Sellers in the War Room. But yeah, youre exactly right...

President Muffley's phone call to the Soviet Premier!

"Of course it's a friendly call. Listen, if it wasn't friendly... you probably wouldn't have even got it..."

I LOVE this movie to pieces.

Also, it's the greatest movie theme song EVER. It perfectly captures the dirt and grit of 1970s NYC.

Some movies get it exactly right the first time. This was one of them. Remaking it is pointless. In fact, remaking any good movie that starred Robert Shaw or Walter Matthau is a total waste of time.
