All the reviews look pretty good.

And I'm on board with Dan Craig finally.

It must be good, possibly the best 007 ever.

I personally found it confusing right from the start and never really could follow what was going on. unsure.gif

I liked the explosions and all but I guess I'm going to have to re-watch it sometime if you all think it's so amazing. lol

I watched Casino Royale like two nights before I saw Quantom. Thats what made it make sense to me yes.gif . Quantom picks up 5 minutes after Casino Royale ends!

i regularly contribute to a bond forum (mi6) ive been a huge bond fan for 30 years and can highly reccomend seeing quantum.

as previously mentioned its the continuation of casino royale and will only make sense if you see casino first.

dan craig is an excellent bond and has taken the series in a totally different direction (in a good way).

its recieved mixed reviews particularly amongst hardcore bond fans many of whom dont like the new direction but i loved it.....see it soon! yes.gif yes.gif yes.gif

I agree, it's much better than say, roger moore era bond films, but it just doesn't quite get to be as good as Casino Royale was....I get the impression that despite the chase scenes, explosions, etc...it's very slow moving and relies too much on the classic "evil guy trying to take over the world". Casino royale spent a majority of the film around a poker table and it was more exciting.

But still, they stuck to the badass bond and thank god for that.

My honest opinion.

For an action movie it kicked ass.
For a bond movie it was just above average. I enjoyed it but I expected it to be much better.

yes.gif

I thought the action sequences were good, but a little confusing. (I'm not a fan of jiggle vision unless it involves mamaries wink.gif ) I actually liked it better than I thought I would. I'm not a big fan of the direction they are taking the Bond franchise, but I still like them.

Some of the negative impression reviewers have to the Craig movies is that they don't feel like Bond films, that they're more like the Bourne films. Do Bondheads (do they have nicknames?) feel this is an accurate description?

I'm indifferent to Bond movies, could explain why I don't mind the Moore movies compared with the Connery ones, (or the singleton of OHMSS-- never seen the Brosnan ones). I did like Casino Royale although not to the level of the Bourne movies.

What do people think of the new theme song? Of course I think it's one of the best ones, if not the best.

I grew up watching bond movies. The first one I remember seeing in the theatre was Diamonds Are Forever. To me, Bond movies are parodies of cold war spy novels. They make fun of the stereotypes those stories have with the suave, cool hero who has all kinds of gadgets at his disposal and a woman at every port. They are different than a run of the mill action movie because the hero uses humor and ingenuity instead of brute force and firepower. Bond gets out of bad situations by cleverly fooling the bad guy, not by blowing his head off. He uses his brains and rarely gets emotional because it's not professional. He wears a tux and caries a tiny Walther .32ACP. Compare that to Dirty Harry who wears huge sunglasses and carries a .44 mag. James Bond occupies a unique niche and IMO the franchise has deviated from that niche into the mass produced pop culture action movies that lack imagination. (I'm still a big of those as well smile.gif )

tongue.gif no ,bondheads is not used to describe bond fans you are however correct in saying that the franchise is losing what made it different from other movies in the genre and the bourne series is regularly sited.

the plot was nothing to do with world domination however,it was a plot by the quantum organisation to monopolise the supply of water.

it was confusing to anyone who dident see casino royale first but even if you did the sheer number of characters and there roles in the plot did leave many people scratching there heads in confusion.

all this said i still loved it and will wait in anticipation for the dvd release
