Snowdog
Some things you just shouldn't mess with. This is one of them.

1-0-0-1-0-0-1
You just don't mess with Bugs and company. Nothing beats a good old-fashioned anvil drop on the head! I hope this "reimagining" fails miserably.
afansince74
Yea, I saw this! I've got the Looney Tunes Golden Collection 4-disc box set, and there's a second 4-disc set now out there! These are great!! I can't imagine not having these! They're timeless, they don't need 'updating'... there's nothing to update... they're classics! I watch 'em with my daughter all the time. I can't wait to get that new second series set! And as interesting looking as the "redone" characters look, I say leave it be. But they won't. http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/j/msnbc/Components/Photos/050217/050217_loonatics_hmed.hlarge.jpg

What makes the folks at WB think these cartoons can't entertain my kids? I agree with afan, these cartoons are timeless. And I agree with 1-0-0, you just can't beat a good ol' anvil drop on the head. And what of poor Foghorn Leghorn? Is he not represented? Ah say, ah say, what's a poor rooster have to do to get some 'tention 'round here? rushengal
This is just wrong... I mean, common people! Leave well enough alone, my dad grew up watching these, I grew up watching these, and someday, my kids will grow up watching these. Its the senseless violence... such as the anvil drop, and the canons that make this sooo enjoyable to watch! Its bad enough that I can't find a channel that shows these anymore, and now they want to introduce some characters that look like they belong on late night, not with the young ones. Come On WB, get your act together!!
afansince74
You're all absolutely right! You know, I was watching some of the special features on all the history of Looney Tunes and the phrase "they don't make 'em like that anymore" comes to mind. And it's because they can't! It was a different time then. Cartoons were made for a totally different reason then. There wasn't any such thing as TV! The production of these 'classics' was done in the old, back lot buildings of the movie studios, with kind of shabby offices and 'leftovers' from everything else the studio was doing. Cartoons were strickly movie openers and such. And with all the goings-on in the world in those early years, and the mentality of the American people then... all made for a unique conglomeration of very talented and driven producers and animators (animating the good old fashioned way, in a non-computerized world) who brought together and developed such rich characters that they would endure and thrive to this very day! You can't just 'redo' the Looney Tunes characters... they are indeed true classics and the time will never exist again that will see anything like them! Fortunately, we have a ton of material that exists already, and will be enjoyed my millions more children as each generation passes them down... and they will, have no fear! I don't care what you put up against them, there's just no competition, it truely doesn't get any better that the original Looney Tunes. So put out what you want WB... in the end you'll go back to the 'standard' that was established before most of you WB execs. were probably even born! Because that's what 'the people' will want! troutman
Just pathetic I agree with what everyone has said here. It is truly sad But are we surprised by anything "Hollywood does anymore" Alot of remakes on all kinds of CLASSIC material, just not like the "good old days"!!! Oh well, like say's THAT'S ENTERTAINMENT" TROUTMAN & THE BEAGLE http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v719/troutbum/IMGP0253.jpg

Batman
Sometimes change is good However, I think in this case it will be bad. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
Digital Man
This is bad...definitely bad. My kids, 11 & 6 like watching the original Looney Toons. We watch them together. So their marketing research isn't all that accurate.
Let The Fray Begin
Undoubtedly a bad idea. Just seeing the pictures makes me think, "Bad Power Rangers Clone".... The original characters are fine the way they are.
