Janie
QUOTE (GeddyRulz @ Jun 20 2008, 01:16 PM) QUOTE (Janie @ Jun 20 2008, 02:53 PM) Murder By Death "Body gone, but pockets still there?" "Room filled with empty people." "Mrs. Charleston's hair red. You have blond hairs on shoulder. This means she has dyed red hair blond, then back again to red, or else you have been... So sorry, Wang is wrong." [reading the new maid's note] "I think butler is dead. My name is Yetta. I don't work Thursdays." "Oh, there, voice come from cow on wall..." "Sh, sh, sh! Cow talk again..." "Man who argue with cow on wall is like train without wheels: very soon get nowhere." "Big house like man married to fat woman: hard to get around." "Someone just put deadly snake in room. Wake me when it come near bed." "What meaning of this, Mr. Twain?" "I will tell you, Mr. Wang, if you can tell me why a man who possesses one of the most brilliant minds of this century can't say his prepositions or articles! 'What is the,' Mr. Wang! 'What is the meaning of this?'" "That what I said! 'What meaning of this?'" "Say your goddamn pronouns!" Words cannot express how much I love this movie. I plan on watching it tonight. It has the best cast line-up! Peter Falk Alec Guinness (one of my favorite actors) David Niven Peter Sellers Maggie Smith (love her - and her line, "I certainly hope he knows how to stop that thing" gets me every time) Eileen Brennan I'm always surprised at how many people have never heard of this film or at least have forgotten about it. Glad to see someone else likes it!

Janie
QUOTE (ReRushed @ Jun 22 2008, 06:35 AM)QUOTE (Janie @ Jun 22 2008, 09:33 AM) QUOTE (Midway Hawker @ Jun 21 2008, 11:03 PM) Young Frankenstein The Princess Bride Murder by Death Those are my top 3, but I love many others... Another Murder by Death fan! Right on! "Oh, there, voice come from cow on wall... " "Moose, moose you imbecile!" Peter Falk (Sam Diamond) and Eileen Brennan (Tess Skeffington) have some of the best lines in the movie: Sam: Wouldn't you know, out of gas. Tess: I saw a station about five miles back, Sam. Sam: [hands her a gas can] I want you to know I'm gonna be waitin' for ya, baby. Sam: I get fifty dollars a day plus expenses when I can get 'em, gentleman. And I owe Miss Skeffington here three years and two month's back pay. Isn't that right, angel? Tess: I don't care about the money, Sam. Sam: Neither do I. Tess: I'm scared, Sam. Hold me. Sam: Hold yourself. I'm busy. Tess: He was very good to me. He would take me to the circus and give me candy. We stopped going when I was about twenty-six. I'm sorry, Sam. Sam: Twenty-six? What the hell kind of a circus was it? Sam: I'll be around if you need me. All you gotta do is whistle, and you know how to whistle, don't ya, baby? Tess: Certainly. What do you mean? I don't understand you... Sam: All right, never mind. Forget it. You ruined it. And then these two Sam Diamond lines always get me: Sam: Locked, from the inside. That can only mean one thing. And I don't know what it is. Sam: Now, if one of you gentlemen would be so kind as to give my lady friend here a glass of cheap white wine, I'm going down the hall to find the can. I talk so much sometimes, I forget to go.
GeddyRulz
QUOTE (Janie @ Jun 22 2008, 08:32 AM) Maggie Smith (love her - and her line, "I certainly hope he knows how to stop that thing" gets me every time) Favorite Maggie Smith line: Where's my Dickie? [everyone looks at her] Excuse me... where's my husband? QUOTE I'm always surprised at how many people have never heard of this film or at least have forgotten about it. Glad to see someone else likes it! I saw it in the theater actually. Back in '77, it was on a double bill with the new Mel Brooks movie "High Anxiety." I've got it on tape; I'll have to go watch it again. Lying awake, sometimes my wife or I will sleepily say to the other: "Someone put deadly snake in room. Wake me when come near bed." Sellers and Falk are the best in the movie. I lean towards Sellers in this one, although I've yet to see a single Pink Panther movie.
