I think it's kinda COOL!

 

I haven't seen Alien 3 in ages (because it's the only one of the series I can't stand).

 

Did an alien come from a dog host in that one? I think so, but can't remember.

 

Anyway - if it did, it would blow the theory that the alien's shape could be based on morphing with its host. I WOULD remember an alien that barked and wagged its tail in the 3rd movie.

 

Regardless... this alien/predator thing looks WILD.

I spoke to my super-geek brother in law today, and he told me that the alien creature assumes the general shape and some of the physical characteristics of its host.   Yeah, 'Alien 3' featured a dog-like critter. I'd forgotten about that. Probably because 'Alien 3' is a really forgettable movie.   I'll reserve further judgement until I see the movie. I actually enjoyed the director's cut of 'AVP', so who knows?
