treeduck Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 But yeah there's a raw energy in the 1982 vid, they seem hungry and into it. The German crowd are pretty dead though.
Bastille Dave Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 love the 80's Dokken, especially T&N and UL&K. 1
Rick N. Backer Posted March 17, 2013 Posted March 17, 2013 One other factoid you guys may not know. Don Dokken filled in for Klaus Meine around the recording of Blackout (I think) when Meine had throat problems. I don't think he ultimately contributed vocals to the album, but he was being groomed to take the gig if Meine was out too long.

I'm not sure if some of his background vocals were used on Blackout, if it is it's uncredited.
Xanadoood Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 I've also read that Lynch took over the lessons at Randy Rhoads moms school when he got the gig with Ozzy. Rhoads trusted him enough.

treeduck Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 Here's one I forgot about. I was wading through my vinyls and found my Dokken discs. One of them is the Dream Warriors 12 inch single/EP and one of the songs on the B side "Back For the Attack" doesn't appear on the album of the same name or anywhere else. It's a good one too! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWsiSijRU-Q

I was a bit disappointed with that album, I didn't like the singer and George's tone was kind of crappy and his tunes and solos weren't as melodic. I liked the second one better but even that was a little bit meh! Again the singer was only ok.

treeduck Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 The "new" studio track of 1988's Beast from the East, a power ballad, this is the official video:
treeduck Posted March 18, 2013 Posted March 18, 2013 What about Dokken in 1979?? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x2BQqX0Zr2w

Jeff Pilson is also the bass player in Steel Dragon, from the movie Rock Star. So by the end of that movie you could have had a band consisting of Myles Kennedy on vocals, Zakk Wylde on guitar, Jeff Pilson on bass, and Jason Bonham on drums. :haz: "Stand Up and Shooouuuuuuuut!"
