drewb93
Personally, I like the stuff from Presto on. I don't know why people don't like the newer stuff; there's some great music in there and some amazing lyrical themes
Spirit_of_2112
Counterparts is the best thing Rush has done in the past 20 years. Other than that, the stuff from HYF - Present in no way compares to everything before it.

TheCameraEye
Counterparts is prob their best in that period, from Presto til now, but they don't say much either. but they've never been the same really since Hold Your Fire. the new album called be filed between Bones and Test. ILSnwdog
You know, I kind of feel the same way about the Bee Gees and everything they have done after Saturday Night Fever. Just turds man.
hammersmith2
Hi, When i was younger, during the seventies,i found that after Hemispheres it took a lot of listening to fall into line with each succesive album,as they seemed to change each time in style. But they always grew on me.I then stopped listening to Rush during the late eighties, for various reasons.I have caught up since, and saw them on the R30 tour in London. To be honest i'm not over keen on the Body Electric, and Countdown, which has great lyric, and an exiting buildup but then seemed to just die.It needs a rewrite,of some of that era with no keyboards and a ripping guitar solo would do the trick. Bye the way i don`t play an instrument,so what do i know? Regards Hammersmith2

Just turds man. well the bee gees have stayed true to their sound. Rush turned to cheese, boring, pop music basically starting with Presto. but i guess they lost lots of fans in this time, so it isn't just me. In all honesty, I couldn't name another Bee Gees album even if you put a gun to my head. Rush not true to their sound? What does that mean? Make all of the music sound the same, just like Areosmith does? No thanks. Give me the constant evolution and exploration. Too bad you are missing out on the rest of the party. There is some awesome work on every album from Rush to S&A. If you don't hear any of the magic in any of their work after HYF, I sincerely feel sorry for you, because you are missing out on some incredible tunes. Just wondering, how is Rush's new material "boring pop music"? I mean, if you look at the song Superconductor (yes, from Presto) that's about how most modern music is just stuff fabricated to make fans like it, which is most certainly not Rush. Rush makes music because THEY like it, not because critics like it, or the mass population likes it.

Sure, the Bee Gees sold 200 million albums, but how many of those still get spun on the turn table. They all collect dust now. And if the Bee Gees went on tour, they would have trouble filling up an auditorium at the casinos on the Indian Reservations.

It says most Rush "fans" don't appreciate good music and they don't appreciate that Rush is changing. There's nothing they can do about it, they can only "blow the way the wind blows"
