tangy
QUOTE (treeduck @ Oct 10 2006, 04:43 PM) QUOTE (tangdog @ Oct 10 2006, 03:28 PM) I was doing some work for a rafting company ( I'm a commercial appraiser) and they sold t-shirts that said "paddle faster, I hear banjos!" Fortunately I was not squealing like a pig when I was down there but I was definitely sweating like one. At least they see the funny side... Imagine what the inbred mountain men would make of Rush... "Lookee here Ebaziakeil, looks like we got us a girly beat group..." "Sure does sound like a girly doin tha singin Obewenkenezial..." "That blonde one sure do got a purdy butt..." "No Obewenkenazial, you idjit, that's her head, she's goin a lil thin up top..." "I likes me a bald girl now and then Ebaziakeil..." "That's whut happens when your mater and pater's only education wuz them ferkin Star Wars movies, they be callin you after em Obewenkenazial..." "Nah it's cos my dad wuz a woodsman gynacologist...least that's whut he called it anyway..."

treeduck
QUOTE (tangdog @ Oct 24 2006, 02:03 PM) short clip of buckethead playing the banjo Nice but veeeeeery short... Did you film that yourself mate?
tangy
No, I did not shoot that clip. No acoustic guitar or banjo for the show I was in attendance for. Its funny that, after all that that I spent searching for him playing on the banjo, I can only find such a short clip and its was filmed in my hometown for a show I missed. This studio video below for the "Spokes for the Wheels of Torment" is simply amazing creative. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YgbDD5YL31Y

tangy
Grabbed this from the Ozzy thread as I don't wish to hijack that thread. Quoting Treeduck: "To be honest i doubt he could remove it and play live, I'm sure it's a stage fright thing and not just a gimmick..." You could be right about the stage fright thing but I actually consider it to be crafty marketing of an image or character. Its like he is a rock and roll superhero. Regardless, he is one of a kind and that is in my book.

I'm curious about that too. I saw at the TDRS forum that there is a list at the TK site? The review of the "I" disc there sounded real postive. It was a lot of cash but I had to have it. So far it sounds like it's all over the Bucket map style-wise, production seems to be good, but generally positive reviews. Sounds like a winner... Well I always had Holdsworth way above Steve, let's face it even Steve has Holdworth way above Steve... There's lots of great players out there though who are Buckethead's own age, Brett Garsed, Andy Timmons, Guthrie Govan, Bumblefoot, Greg Howe, Joel Hoekstra, Paul Gilbert... I always thought Steve Morse and Eric Johnson measured up well to Vai too...
