GeddyRulz
Hm. I was just thinking the other day that a movie about Hendrix would be good. And I've recently been thinking of checking out his biography, "'Scuse Me While I Kiss the Sky." Tarantino seems like a strange choice of director, though. GeddyRulz
Where are they gonna find a left-handed guitar player who looks like Jimi? The shots of him playing should look as accurate as possible.

Rush!
I also think that a Hendrix movie would be good. He's one of my favorite guitarists, and Mitch Mitchell is an influence of mine, a great drummer he is. Noel Redding is also great on the bass. All 3 of them are very good at their instruments. Or were very good in Hendrix and Redding's case. Weird: I'm wearing a yellow T-shirt right now that depicts the Jimi Hendrix Experience's '67 debut: Are You Experienced? right now. thestand
QUOTE (KenJennings @ Apr 28 2006, 04:52 PM) Tarantino's a HACK, Hendrix was a HACK. Good duo. To say Tarantino is a hack is to admit that you're blind. Don't watch the movie, but download the script and read it. Then go and read a script of a couple of your favourite movies. Even if you still think your movies are better, you won't be able to say Tarantino is a hack. There is depth in his scripts where others come up horribly shallow. I personally am not the biggest fan anymore of his genre, but I was once, and now that I write scripts, he's a great example to work by.
KenJennings
Think what you may, but from my seat; Tarantino IS a hack. He substitutes any kind of meaningful directing with overly-flashy, confusing, almost masturbatorily-unnecessary use of violence. He throws over a catchy tune, and boom *VISIONARY*... Then his stories, which exist in non-contiguous bursts between meaningless violence scenes, will run you in circles and lead you nowhere fast. After two hours of a Tarantino movie you're about 8 dollar shy of when you went in, you may have a bad taste in your mouth (I always have), you'll realize the movie made no progress, and you've lost two hours of your life. He's done NOTHING that ever impressed me. Just my two cents. When it comes to directing, there are only two big names left: Spielburg and Shyamalan. GhostGirl
Not to be too much of a hijacker but I've been thinking it would be cool for someone to make a movie about Syd Barrett...I know there was "The Wall," but I'm talking about more of a biopic. Just a thought. Back to the Jimi Hendrix experience.
