Peter Benchley, the author of Jaws, and writer of several other teleplays featuring sea monsters, died of lung scarring at the age of 65.

It's funny that he has said he is no more responsible for the fear of the ocean than Puzo is responsible for fear of the Mafia.

Me too! I was very scared when I saw Jaws for the first time on TV. That was nearly 10 years after the movie was made, but those were the years of my childhood! Even though the movie tells a story that is very false and harmful to sharks as species, I liked it a lot when I was a kid. I have seen the movie about 25 times now!

Anyway, sad news.. sad.gif
