I don't see the 2 bands have much in common. So if you like prog more you'll likely vote Tull. If you like well crafted pop/rock songs CCR makes more sense. I'm a Tull fan and only know CCR's biggest hits. Good songs but nothing I'm compelled to listen to on my own. Their play on radio would be good enough for me. I will say that cover for Cosmo's Factory is dreadful.

Not a but fan of either. A middle school girlfriend gave me a Tull eight track for my birthday, wound up tore up strewn about the street. Went CCR across the board as well.
