Benefit

Heavy Horses

Roots to Branches

Aqualung

Thick as a Brick

Minstrel in the Gallery

Crest of a Knave

War Child

The Broadsword and the Beast

Stormwatch

No Songs From the Wood??

That would probably make the top twelve.

I thought that was your number 1!

Nah, but it's good. And Fire at Midnight is one of my favorite Tull songs.

Not much love for Under Wraps then?

It was certainly an odd decision by IA to record an electronic album, though it was the early eighties!

The songs are pretty good but the arrangements with synths and drum machines and the production spoil the final product.

I dont mind rhe arrangements but the electronic drums do get shrill sounding after a while. The Remaster is doubly bad but the original vinyl is tight.

1 - Songs From The Wood

2 - Stormwatch

3 - Aqualung

4 - Heavy Horses

5 - The Broadsword And The Beast

6 - Benefit

7 - Thick As A Brick

8 - Stand Up

9 - This Was

10 - A Passion Play

That was very tough, so I decided to rank intuitively.

11 - Under Wraps (still love that (weird sounding) album, and not only because of Under Wraps # 2, which is really a beauty)

Tough for me, I love Tull.

Here's 12 that vie for the top ten:

Heavy Horses

Songs From the Wood

Too Old To Rock and Roll

War Child

Aqualung

Stormwatch

Crest of a Knave

Minstrel In The Gallery

Catfish

Thick as a Brick

Roots to Branches

Rock Island

With proper love for the excellent Broadsword, Benefit, Stand Up and This Was

Passion Play sits at par.

Sub par: (edit- these aren't sub par. They're actually really bad albums. )

Under Wraps and A

Only heard J-Tull.com once, need more repetitions to see.

I like Under Wraps. The vocals are great, and many of the songs are good. The annoying drum machines and awful-sounding synths do hurt it, but the main reason it's only fifteenth or so in my Tull rankings is that most of the competition is simply stronger. Too Old, Catfish Rising, and This Was are at the very bottom for me, but I like plenty of material on each of those albums.
