Before they start announcing names, the speaker clearly states "we have a lot of names to get thru, please hold your applause to the end." A dozen or so names are read, all obey the speaker's request. Then one name is read and a couple people scream like crazy... repeat. Not only can it make the ceremony quite a bit longer, but often the people reading the names don't wait and you miss hearing a name or two. Sucks for those families. Was the kid not expected to graduate and you couldn't help screaming? Is it simply the "me society"? Maybe I shouldn't worry about it and just start yelling at kids to stay off my lawn :)

Classic rock icons, before they were stars...

Hello, female scientist here. And I know and have worked with quite a number of female scientists, PhDs included. Not 100% positive, but I am pretty sure that was sarcasm. I mean everyone's heard of Marie Curie... and there had to be a couple more come along eventually... like Christmas Jones?

Yeah that is total crap along the lines of one of those Police Academy part 17 sequels. I assume they wanted to go with an entirely fresh cast but I think they needed at least one of the original Busters (other than just a cameo) to form this new team. Those jokes/gags seem canned as hell. *And surely there will be some shitty Thor joke tossed in given that Chris Hemsworth is the receptionist. I could totally see them ask him to hand them a hammer, and he won't be able to lift it.

They really knocked it out of the park by casting Rudd as Ant Man. Right up there with Jackman as Wolverine and Downey Jr as Iron Man. I thought the idea of an Ant Man movie was going to be stupid but it's one of the more entertaining ones they've done. when I heard there was gonna be an Ant Man movie, I thought... meh. But I agree, it's one of my favorites. Starz was showing a bunch of the MCU movies leading up to Civil War and I watched Ant Man at least 3 times. GuardÃans is also highly entertaining, and I watched that one twice. The Guardians movie was pretty good. I just hated how they wrote Yondu. HATED. http://www.cine-sanctuary.com/public/sanctuary/img/yondu-Michael-rooker_zpsaa05efa81.jpg It was as if nobody knew anything about the character and just tossed him in the movie to appease comics fans. Then, it was as if the director told Michael Rooker to just portray Yondu as Merle Dixon from Walking Dead. To make it worse, they took comic book Yondu's signature item (the bow) and removed it altogether from the film [imagine never having Cap's shield in the movies]. I had trouble watching every scene he was in. Yondu isn't some scavenging redneck with gold teeth. He's closer to Spock than some good 'ol boy. Damn shame. yeah, I had no expectations (not knowing him from the comics), but I didn't like him at all in the movie. -

I really liked it, but the more I thought about it... other than some cool fighting scenes, nothing really happened. The story wasn't advanced much at all -
WI is getting their first IKEA in Oak Creek, just south of Milwaukee. People are freaking out, literally screaming with excitement. WHY? What is it about IKEA? I bought one thing there, it was complete crap and I never went back. If it's just for the jobs that are coming to the area, I can see being excited about that... but that's about it.

We were talking about going to see this tonight or tomorrow, and my daughter said "I want the Scarlet Witch's power so I can stop cars on my walk to school." We live 2 blocks from the HS and she only crosses 1 street... -
I'm a fan, definitely not a fanboy (or fanboi) and I agree there isn't much of a line between fan and fanatic seeing fan is just the shortening of the word fanatic :) I did hear Xanadu ON THE RADIO a few days ago and after the surprise of it being on the radio wore off, I actually got a little sad thinking I will likely never see them play this one again (other than in old video)

Going to see it this weekend, and seeing I don't follow the comics, I assume I will not even notice any issue with the 2 characters you did? -
We got 2 Hoover brand. The one with a bag we still use in the 3 season porch. Just leave it out there. We got a windtunnel, and it works ok, it's just not very powerful. We vacuumed the carpet with it and then did it again immediately afterward with the new one. I couldn't believe the amount picked up - the Shark pulled out 2x more,

that was totally WTF

Our new vacuum... anyone looking for one? It is super powerful and really versatile. We seem to have been buying a new one every 5 years or so, and the mid-range ones just don't seem to hold up. I started doing research on Shark and Dyson, and for the money, Shark got the nod. Went to WalMart and found a good Shark Rotator Pro for $218. We bought it, and it worked well, but we were disappointed in the pet attachments so I kept looking. Kohl's has the Shark Powered Rotator Pro True Pet model for $279 (normal price is $429). If anyone knows Kohls, you get 15%, 20%, 30% discount during certain times and we got a 15% off coupon. Bought this one for $238 after 15% off, and returned the other one back to WalMart. My parents got a 30% off coupon so I went to Kohls to ask them to give me the difference... they just gave me the 30% on top of the other discounts. Final price for our new vac was $166. http://www.kohls.com/product/prd-2166289/shark-nv752-rotator-powered-lift-away-bagless-vacuum.jsp http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/31sjCPPlV3L._SY355_.jpg

Yes, I don't have the luxury of youth and lots of time, so I might have to spam a bit. ;) No, don't resort to that!

I had Signals listed as my favorite album for years, until Hemispheres took over. Every song is good, all but 2 (Chemistry, Countdown) I would call great

I know this is Lorraine's thread... but what about me you stupid assface? You know, I can't recall Lorraine ever calling me a "stupid @ssface," for instance. This is true, LIX. I can't recall ever calling Rick that either. you may be the only one

not very Rotten.... My wife is on the fence about this movie. She loves both the Ironman and Captain characters, and thinks it will be hard to watch them fight
