  2. QUOTE (Xanadude69 @ Nov 13 2011, 11:39 PM) If only they would come back to the US.... I'm not a fan of these guys. But, I saw they are doing a 2012 US tour.

  10. I don't really feel guilty about it but it fits with the subject, I guess... I've enjoyed listening to Rick Springfield ever since I was a little kid. From what I've seen in Tapehead2's bootlegs, the dude still has more energy in concert than most other performers.

Every time I see Cobain's name in the Top 10 or 20 of one of those stupid "Best Guitarist" polls, I don't know whether to laugh or throw up.

  16. I've been listening to a lot of Pearl Jam and Soundgarden lately and I started wondering how other people ranked the "Big 4" of grunge. * Reply to the person above you and copy and paste the previous person's entry into your post * Give (add) an extra point to your favorite band & mark with a +1 * Take away (subtract) a point to your least favorite band & mark with a -1 * DO NOT make any changes to any of the other bands! * A band is eliminated when it reaches 0. * You many only vote TWICE PER DAY. Copy everything below: ONLY CHANGE 2 BANDS: +1 TO YOUR FAVORITE; -1 TO YOUR LEAST FAVORITE AND REMEMBER: THE TOTAL OF ALL POINTS HAS TO BE 60!!! 17. No contest... Batman & Robin!!! I almost walked out. I told myself "It's gotta get better. It can't be this bad all the way through". It didn't. And, it was. They took a character who could've been one of the greatest villains of all-time (Bane) and reduced him to a grunting buffoon with 10 seconds of air time.
  18. Going on what I've actually heard from the two, especially GM's rendition of "Somebody To Love" mentioned above, I have to go with George Michael.
  19. I remember when these albums came out the September of my freshman year in college. A bunch of us pre-ordered the albums and walked the 2-3 miles to the off-campus CD shop. I have good memories of freshman year when listening to these albums. That being said... if they combined these 2 albums and threw out about half of it, they could have had a really great sophomore album. Instead, they have two mediocre/ slightly-above-average albums. If Axl only got his head out of his ass about 15-18 years ago, they could've possible had a really great career. And, it's going to be a crying shame when they're inducted into the RARHOF their first time on the ballot.
  20. It does seem like he's been around forever. He's one of those guys who I've always known about and heard great things but never checked out. He's played with Vai, too. And, if I'm not mistaken, he's done something with Vinnie Moore.
  21. Congratulations! Thanks awesome. Enjoy the show!
  22. QUOTE (metaldad @ Oct 13 2011, 10:06 AM) QUOTE (cfmoran13 @ Oct 13 2011, 08:16 AM) C'mon! You mean to tell me you didn't enjoy that?!? At the Morristown show, I stood watching in amazement the whole time. They'll only have it for this tour, mainly to showcase just how freakin' awesome MM is. Once he has one full tour cycle under his belt, I'm sure it will be dropped. I couldn't believe how awesome he was... the whole show! The amount of joy he exudes even, as he does a one-handed drum tap twice as fast as I can do with two hands, is phenomenal. He seems to be having such a good time. And, it definitely rubbed off on all the other guys. It's great to see. As a unit, they were f*cking incredible! James sounded great on everything. And, I enjoyed "Endless Sacrifice" (not a big fan) exponentially more than any other time I've heard or seen it. The solo was great. The problem is that i have been watching Drum Solos since 1980 and i am just sick of them. I really don't think that anyone in the D.T. crowd has never heard of M.M. Go to YouTube and you can watch all you want. When you have as many songs as they do, Play them. If i never saw another drum solo agian , i would not care, including Rush Believe me, I totally understand. To me, drum solos are so self-indulgent. But, having never seen Mangini live before, I was happy. I have a DVD of an old Vai concert where he has a solo. But, it's not the same as live. Now, I can say I've seen him solo. Now, it's time to move on. The sad thing is that, if you take out the solo, you still only have time for one more DT song. The good thing is that, before this, there hadn't been a drum solo in their set since 1995.

  24. Collective Soul/ Aerosmith 08/26/1994 Roanoke Civic Center, Roanoke VA This was on Aerosmith's 'Get A Grip' tour, back in the heyday of the Alicia Silverstone video craze. At this show, they played all 3 of those songs ("Cryin'", "Crazy", and "Amazing"). And, if I'm not mistaken, they played them all right after the other. All of the teeny-boppers were loving it. But, I wanted to hear "Seasons Of Wither", "Kings And Queens", "Big Ten Inch Record" and stuff like that. Guess I was a couple decades too late for that!
