  1. QUOTE (MCM @ May 3 2011, 06:48 PM) QUOTE (Derv @ May 3 2011, 11:08 AM) I am really looking forward to The Camera Eye and Witch Hunt. Witch Hunt is so monumental you will pee your pants! I didn't pee my pants dude...i did have a little bacon strip though.
  2. QUOTE (Cosy Toes @ May 3 2011, 05:31 PM) You don't need a ticket, you want one. no, real rush fans NEED their rush shows to survive... only d-bags like you...oh forget it.
  3. QUOTE (D3strukt @ Apr 28 2011, 04:57 PM) I still don't understand why people will stay happy with a Cyg teaser. Why not just play the entire thing. If Ged can sing 2112. He can sing Cygnus X-1
  4. i'll bet the snare drum case/set is pricey!

  6. QUOTE (ucsteve667 @ Apr 23 2011, 06:45 PM) I figure if ya have floor seats yer standing the whole time. okey no prob. but if Im in the upper decks at a RUSH show I prefer to sit and watch/listen. I have no desire to stand for 2-3 hrs i dont care who is playing that's great for you, but if i'm in front of you you're gonna be looking at my ass for 3 hours. stand up and get into it for christ's sake....

  8. i'd love to see a few go away, as they are well documented in the recent live cd/dvd's... subdivisions far cry working man workin' them angels i love those songs. i'd rather hear something different... now, songs like tom sawyer and freewill are never gonna go away, but i've heard them EVERY time i've seen them since 1984. i'd love some more gems as they did from snakes and arrows tour: digital man, entre nous, circumstnaces...what nice suprises those were. this time around (time machine) songs like marathon and time stand still were nice suprises, but IMO there was not enough of songs like them in the set. realistic songs for consideration (songs they've played live, for the most part)...i mean- hoping for a farwell to kings or other older stuff is a pipe dream. don't get me worng; if they played it, i'd be traveling to more than a few shows but how about picking a few of these ones... boys?? manhattan project kid gloves analog kid freeze jacob's ladder finding my way or in the mood would be nice...fun songs live double agent cold fire test for echo the weapon body electric the enemy within not a list, but songs i hope get some consideration next time around.
  9. QUOTE (Hemispheres89 @ Apr 18 2011, 05:26 PM) I've felt this way consistently for about a week now, and i'm a bit disappointed. It's hard to be excited and fully enjoy the show when you've got this on your plate. It's not so bad that I can't get up and go, but I do feel highly disoriented around a place taht has lots of objects/people. Hopefully it eases up alittle bit for tomorrow night! Who else will be going to the hamilton show? i'm going, but stayin' away from you
  10. wow...those are some amazing shots. i like the rush ad you see on the arena wall: one of the geddy pics- you can see the advertisement for that nights' show- COOL.
  11. so..........when's the release date for the DVD? me waiting for DVD> still buzzing/beaming from this show people.
  12. QUOTE (Snaked @ Apr 16 2011, 04:01 PM) QUOTE (hughes&kettner @ Apr 16 2011, 03:53 PM) QUOTE (Snaked @ Apr 16 2011, 03:43 PM) QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Apr 16 2011, 02:45 PM) Question: Did Cleveland give a better audience than Rio '02? No. The Cleveland crowd was great but thats because they were filming and everybody in the arena knew it. It was a phenominal atmosphere but you could feel that it was a bit forced. That didnt take anything away from the show, but had there been no film crew and extra lights it would have been an entirely different story. Best North American crowd I've ever seen.. but not better than Rio. cleveland shows are actually a lot like last night, EVERY night. having seen numerous bands- same tour- different cities, and comparing crowds- NO other city rocks like cleveland. it did have something to do with the whole video taping...but not much. and unless you have been to shows in cleveland other than last night, you'll just have to take my word. I've seen many shows in Cleveland and last night was an anomoly by comparison to RUSH shows in the area (Counting Blossom) over the last 9 years. Consider that in '02 they barely drew 7,000 to the Gund and the Blossom show in '07 was just a bit over 10,000. The show last night was sold out due to some very good marketing by Anthem. Announcing WAY early that the band would be filming a DVD at that show pretty much guarnteed that every fan with the ability to travel would be in Cleveland for the show... and that tactic worked in spades. Back in the Richfield days the crowd wasnt even as wild as they were last night and those Richfield shows from the mid 80's through early 90's were NUTS i dunno brotha- i remember quite a few richfield shows to be rather wild. and the first show they played at the Gund (now the Q) on test for echo was NUTS! in any case- last night literally made HISTORY!

  14. QUOTE (jesse2112 @ Apr 16 2011, 02:45 PM) Question: Did Cleveland give a better audience than Rio '02? answer: cleveland was not as crazy as rio, BUT cleveland is also much cooler- can hold it together and we have seen rush a few times before, so we didn't need to pee our pants. LOVE the rio crowd/dvd. but cleveland rocks. no other city has that claim to fame. we don't have a lot else to hang our hats on and remember- geddy him self said...(and i quote): "best audience EVER!"
  15. geddy's words after last song: BEST AUDIENCE EVER!!!!!!!!! different lights (rafter set up above floor seats) and a few added time machine amps or whatever you want to call them on either side of the stage. Band was great, no real glitches at all- they NAILED spirit of the radio- were a little(tiny teeny bit) tight for a while after that- but still sounded superb. they really hammed it up tonight. crowd was SICK: loud and standing- lots of movement.lerxt was mr GQ for the moving pictures part of the set. cool blimp that floated around the whole night with a camera. there was NO mention of the filming from geddy- which a lot of people were hoping for i think. Neil was like a 30 year old during his solo tonight. there was a group of4-5 guys dressed up in orange/red jumpsuits just like the moving pictures album cover guys- they really looked cool and were taking pics with people all over the arena...funny. the crowd was(considerably) louder than the band when they wanted to be. what an experience folks! i've seen them a TON of times and this was the best RUSH experience ever. so tired now...i video recorded a good 8-9 songs in HD that i'll get up soon.
  16. QUOTE (zogoto @ Apr 15 2011, 02:27 AM) Find other active bands you enjoy as well. I'm seeing Voivod on Sunday, Rush next month, and then going to a big music festival where Coroner will be playing in June. Pretty good set up, if I say so myself. what is this "other bands" you speak of?
  17. hmmm...wonder what his vertical is on that one!
  18. QUOTE (liddybuck01 @ Apr 14 2011, 11:05 PM) Man, Toledo was really amazing. Second row, i couldnt believe it! But now im super depressed. I was a little depressed before i bought the tickets last week, then i had something to look forward to! But now its over and i have nothing and im upset all over again. Yes, im depressed about other things in my life but right now its about Rush. Lame, right? Well, first off, i had a lot of fun at the show, but afterwards i realized it couldve been way better. The first row was right in front of me, and quite empty, and a ton of people had snuck up there throughout the night. I asked hubby if it was cool if i could and he said no, concerned i would get kicked out or something, but by the time i wanted to go they were just letting people stay up there. I was kind of mad he wouldnt let me go up there. We were about to leave anyways! I didnt go because i didnt want to get into a fight with him about it. I guess im just more of a fan girl about it but now im quite upset, mostly at myself, for not taking a chance and a possible once in a lifetime opportunity. Also im upset because i got so lucky getting second row tickets, but i know i will probably never get that lucky ever again. Those tickets are usually top dollar, and im quite poor. It bums me out. Now i cant go back to cheap seats, its not the same! Also seeing everyone going to multiple shows bums me out, and im totally jealous that i cant live my life that way. Sorry for my long ass pitty party rant. I just dont have anyone to talk to and as Rush fans i thought someone might understand. i feel ya...but i was in the 3rd row, and thought it was beyond spectacular- front row is great; but where you were really isn't anything to be sad about
  19. Ok, so last night was toledo. we had 3rd row on geddy's side. sound=absolutely perfect...performance= ditto. several exchanges with geddy and alex from those seats, wink-wink and whatnot. you could hear neil's drums acoustically from where we were, it was amazing. the place was full, but oddly the 2 sections right behind the soundboard were covered. not sure why?? my friend and i left before the ending video, and as soon as we got outside the arena, we saw neil's truck/trailer leaving; kinda cool. BUT on the way back to the cleveland area there was HORRIBLE traffic on the turnpike- took 45min to go about 4 miles...but guess who was RIGHT next to us on the road? Neil's truck again! we honked a little, but didn;t want to keep the professor awake so now it's time to rest and get ready for friday's show a the Q...this one is gonna be SPECIAL! the band is truly sounding better than ever. they're coming home tomorrow!! if you are coming in from out of town, show some respect and take a cue from the cleveland fans- BE LOUD!!!
  20. QUOTE (PolarizeMe @ Apr 13 2011, 06:45 PM)I wonder if the Quicken Loans Arena's fire code will allow the pyrotechnics for Friday's show considering it's the day when Rush film the DVD for this tour. I'd be disappointed if the fans going on Friday won't be treated with the fire for Witch Hunt, Caravan and 2112, cause for me personally, I love that aspect of the show that I want to see how it turns out on the DVD later this year or early next year. seeing as how before each CAVS game, they shoot fire from the jumbotron, i'm guessing rush will be allowed to use their pyro.
  21. QUOTE (aftermath @ Apr 14 2011, 03:51 AM) I know that they said last year that they'd be playing "Jacob's Ladder" but they haven't so far. Does anyone know if the band has ever played it live since the "Permanent Waves" and "Pre-Moving Pictures" tours circa 1980? I have pretty much every live Rush bootleg from every era that can be found on the net (200+) and none of them have it. It looks like they dropped it completely after the "Permanent Waves" tour. Has anyone here been fortunate enough to have heard them play it? just check the selist history at cygnus X-1 webpage
  22. I was seriously debating wearing a Kimono...when i was a wee lad, i had my mom make me one- hey i was 12 and jsut starting to be a RUSH FREAK...had that old huge poster, like a 4X6' one with pics of the band all wearing kimonos... i found a few, but then decided that'd be a little too weird.
  23. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 12 2011, 07:41 PM)the only reason rolling sh*t approached them is because they were a hot ticket and their popularity has grown a little more. that and people keep pressuring them to induct rush. i realize rush is too classy for this but i would have loved to see them turn around and the guy. rs: how are we doing today guys? rush: we're doing great, yourself? (all the while ) ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha you could tell ged was thinking about what he'd LIKE to say at the beginning when the interviewer asked how they were doing...there is a long-ish pause before geddy answers him. probably thinking: "what the F does your magazine F-ing care about how the F we are you ______ _______ $%^#@&@@%@^"... RRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGRHGHGHGRHRR
  24. this thread may get interesting... cool video, but thy sure as hell don't need r. stone for validation.
