  1. A Mafia Godfather finds out that his bookkeeper has screwed him out of ten million bucks; his bookkeeper is deaf. It was considered an occupational benefit, and the reason he got the job in the first place, since it was assumed that a deaf bookkeeper would not be able to hear anything that he'd ever have to testify about in court. When the Godfather goes to shakedown the bookkeeper about his missing $10 million bucks, he brings along his attorney, who knows sign language. The Godfather asks the bookkeeper: "Where is the 10 million bucks ! you embezzled from me?" The attorney, using sign language, asks the bookkeeper where the 10 million bucks is hidden. The bookkeeper signs back: "I don't know what you are talking about." The attorney tells the Godfather: "He says he doesn't know what you're talking about." That's when the Godfather pulls out a 9 mm pistol, puts it to the bookkeepers temple, cocks it, and says: "Ask him again!" The attorney signs to the underling: "He'll kill you for sure if you don't tell him!" The bookkeeper signs back: "OK! You win! The money is in a brown briefcase, buried behind the shed in my cousin Enzo's backyard in Queens!" The Godfather asks the attorney: "Well, what'd he say?" The attorney replies: "He says you don't have the balls to pull the trigger."
  2. Ok, just got back from the Yngwie Malmsteen show at Mr. Smalls in Pittsburgh, PA. We got there around 6:15 or so, and the doors were supposed to open at 7. After waiting outside by the doors in the rain for roughtly 45 minutes, security comes out and announces that there are to be no cameras allowed on Yngwie's orders. So... this means I had to walk back to Justin's car and wait in the back of the line for another 45 minutes until security was done frisking everybody. When I finally got in, I look for my friends and low and behold, they're right in the very front! I get up there with them and around 8, the first band, Icarus Witch went on stage. Icarus Witch is a local band from the Pittsburgh area, so it was kinda like a homecomming show for them. They started with the song Forevermore and then went into their hit, Storming the Castle. The highlight of their set was The Ghost of Xavior Holmes. When watching them, it felt like you were watching Iron Maiden peforming during the Powerslave tour. Definitely a band to watch out for in the future. The next band was Orange Sky. Hailing from Trinidad, these Carribean rockers take 80's Metallica, mix it with Pantera and go Reggae with it. When they walked on stage we all found ourselves saying to ourselves "ok, what the hell are these guys doing?" Then they went into Master of Puppets... They turned out to be a very good band, mixing thrash metal in with reggae and are looking to be a promising band for the future as well. And finally, Mr. Yngwie J. Malmsteen came on stage. All I can say is it was insane. Whatever argument people may bring about him having no soul in his playing and just being all show is complete bullshit. The whole time it looked like he was having an orgasm while playing. I ended up trading facial gestures with him a couple of times and got into a pointing contest with his drummer that lasted the rest of the night. Also, during the show, he had to have thrown at least 50 guitar picks into the crowd. Once a pick went into reach of the crowd, it was like watching 50 chickens run around with their heads cut off. I didn't get any though, but we did manage to get a copy of the set list. The set list was as follows: Rising Force Demon Driver Badiniere into Cracking Whip Crown Of Thorns Into Exile Adagio into Far Beyond the Sun Paraphrase Dreaming Segue Into the gates of Babylon Baroque & Roll Revolution Winds of War Razor Eater Trilogy Guitar Solo RedHouse Fugue Drum Interlude You Dont Remember Never Die ---------Encore-------- Black Star Cherokee Warrior See The Light I'm still trying to get my voice back...

  4. QUOTE (tangdog @ May 6 2006, 12:11 AM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Apr 28 2006, 03:39 PM) May 11th: Yngwie Malmsteen and Icarus Witch. I'm going mosty to see Icarus Witch. You better double check that Icarus Witch is opening. I just walked in the door from Yngwie and it was Orange Sky opening. I saw tour dates that made me think that Orange Sky was the opener for all the dates. It's Icarus Witch and Orange Sky opening. I bought the tickets through Icarus Witch and first heard about them opening for Yngwie from their bassist when I met him.
  5. I'm completely addicted to As I Am, Panic Attack and The Root of All Evil. I take back everything I said about DT in the past. Call me a hippocrite or a traitor if you like, but I'm really digging these guys now.

  13. Asking me to pick between Pulp Fiction and Resovoir Dogs is like asking me to strap 500 lbs of dynamite to myself, set it off and survive the blast.
  14. "I'm going to make you an offer you can't refuse." C'mon the Godfather is my all time favorite movie.
  15. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Apr 20 2006, 03:05 AM) It's looking like I'm going to Joe Satriani and Eric Johnson on May 12th in Reno, NV.. I'm very excited...! I've never seen Joe and I haven't seen Eric in 16 years! Satch will blow you out of the water. Johnson, while a good player didn't really impress me when I saw them two weeks ago.
  16. "Sicilians were spawned by NEEEGROES" That completely ruined any Cable tv version of True Romance for me.
  17. QUOTE (Signals1982 @ Apr 14 2006, 01:43 PM) Aslan got taken down quick man. Sure he came back but he's a wimp Only because he let them take him down...
  18. I'm telling you right now, he won't get the part, no matter how hard he tries. Everything I keep hearing and reading about regarding the Joker is that WB (and presumably Chris Nolan too) are eyeing both Paul Bettany and Lachey Hulme for the role. Hulme is the front runner, although unlike Liev Schriber (who WB wants to play Harvey Dent/Two-Face), it's not a "he has it if he says he wants it" deal.

  20. QUOTE (pedro2112 @ Apr 8 2006, 09:39 AM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Apr 7 2006, 09:33 PM) And Hugo Weaving delivered it fantasticly. Did you see it Kazz? What was your take on it? It was (so far) the best film I've seen this year. Hugo Weaving was fantastic as the protagoniist/antagonist (depending on your point of view), V. There were a few changes from the original graphic novel that pissed off Alan Moore (the writer of the original novel, who's other works include, The League of Extraordinary Gentleman, The Watchmen and Batman: The Killing Joke), but when doesn't some kind of change happen in a comic book film (Spidey's web comming with his powers in the movie instead of Peter building the web shooters on his own; Dr. Jonathan Crane being head psychologist at Arham Asylum instead of being a professor at Gotham University in Batman Begins, etc). Politicly, it makes you think as well. Is this what's in store for us in the future? Who knows (I'll comment on this later in the thread about this in the politics forum). Overall, a well written, well acted (especially by Hugo Weaving), and overal, a very good movie. 8/10
