  1. QUOTE (MrMiltonBanana @ Jul 8 2006, 05:09 PM) QUOTE (kazzman @ Jul 8 2006, 02:56 PM) Don't read on if you really, really don't want to know what happens... Jack Sparrow "dies" and Captain Barbossa isn't dead. Yeah.....SPOILERS Yeah...he's not dead. If he died, the kraken would have really jumped on him. But HE jumped into the kraken. He knew what he was doing. He'll get out. Possibly Men In Black style. More spoilers ahead regarding what presumably will happen in the third film: Pirates 3 begins in the Orient, where Elizabeth Swann is taking a prisoner to the dread pirate Sao Feng. It is then revealed that she is conspiring with Captain Barbossa. The plan is to exchange the prisoner, who is hooded, for some charts Sao Feng has, but the whole thing is a scam. The prisoner is actually Will Turner! Both he and Elizabeth escape and take the charts with them. The charts are to help them find Davey Jones' Locker, where Jack Sparrow went after he died. Jack is not in heaven or hell but in a a desert filled with weird crabs. Jack is rescued and there is a gathering of a pirate armada, which culminates in a massive sea battle. http://www.moviespoilers.net/pirates3.html

  3. Ok, don't get me wrong about SR here. From an entertaining factor, I liked the movie, but from a Superman mythology POV, it was just plain ok. The plane scene was just amazing and the fight scene on the roof was awesome. Brandon Routh was excellent in his portrayal of the character, flawlessly matching Christopher Reeve as both Clark Kent and Superman. His posture, presentation, even the way he talked was spot on. Spoilers ahead for those who haven't seen it and don't want to be spoiled. Highlight text to read. If the kid was really Superman's, then why did he have asthma? Why couldn't he open the door in the boat when they were trapped, but could throw a piano to save his mother? If the island Luthor was building was really made out of Kryptonite, why did Supes get the living shit beaten out of him while he was fighting Lex on it, but then why could he lift it and send it out into space? And uh I think Kevin Smith wrote it best regarding Superman getting Lois pregnant: "It's impossible, Lois could never have Superman's baby. Do you think her fallopian tubes could handle the sperm? I guarantee you he blows a load like a shotgun right through her back. What about her womb? Do you think it's strong enough to carry her child? He's an alien, for Christ sake. His Kyrptonian biological makeup is enhanced by earth's yellow sun. If Lois gets a tan the kid could kick right through her stomach. Only someone like Wonder Woman has a strong enough uterus to carry his kid. The only way he could bang regular chicks is with a kryptonite condom. That would kill him.
  4. Then don't pay attention to it.
  5. German horror director Uwe Boll is so fed up with receiving bad reviews from movie critics he is challenging his detractors to a filmed fight. Boll, whose movies Alone In The Dark and House Of The Dead are based on video games, says he will fly his critics to meet him and will then fight them in a boxing ring. The filmmaker is incensed by an online petition which has 13,327 signatures of people asking him to stop making movies. Boll, who has also invited Roger Avary and Quentin Tarantino to join his fight, plans to air the fights on the internet. He the plans to edit clips into his latest film Postal. Boll says, "I'm fed up with people slamming my films without seeing them. Many journalists make value judgments on my films based on the opinions of one or two thousand internet voices. Half of those opinions come from people who've never watched my films. If critics want to bring Uwe Boll down, here is their chance to physically bring him down and have the entire world watch them do it." http://www.imdb.com/news/wenn/2006-06-23/ Now this I gotta see.
  6. Vinny Gambini: I understand you played a game of pool with Lisa for $200, which she won. I'm here to collect. J.T.: How 'bout if I just kick your ass? Vinny Gambini: Oh, a counter-offer. That's what we lawyers - I'm a lawyer - we lawyers call that a counter-offer. This is a tough decision here. Get my ass kicked or collect $200. Let me think... I could use a good ass-kickin', I'll be very honest with you... nah, I think I'll just go with the two hundred. J.T.: Over my dead body. Vinny Gambini: You like to renegotiate as you go along, don't you? Well here's my counter-offer... do I have to kill you? What if I were just to kick the ever loving shit out of you? J.T.: In your dreams. Vinny Gambini: Oh no no... in reality. If I was to kick the shit out of you, do I get the money? -------------------------- "Everything that guy just said is bullshit... Thank you"

  11. QUOTE (Der Trommler @ Jun 3 2006, 12:26 PM) The only problem I have with movies & comics is they keep losing continuity when they use the same damn super heroes.....Batman (In Begins, they changed the premise of his existence from prior...) Superman was done many times before & I hope it does live up to it.....I liked Spidey I & II. I liked the entire Batman series (I liked Begins but had issues with continuity) That was the whole point of Begins though. The previous four movies where killed by Shumacher and after Batman and Robin, there was no way they could revive that continuity and make it respectable again. Then, after several years of different Batman movie projects comming and going like a bullet being shot at Superman, Chris Nolan stepped in and re-started the whole Batman franchise from the ground up, completely ignoring the Burton/Shumacher films and considering them canon (which was the best thing he could have done).
  12. Not really. All it really shows is that *said character* didn't really die as we all presumed he did. As far as more X-Men films go, all that's been confirmed is a Wolverine spin-off.
  13. DC. Hands down. You've got Batman Begins (which is the best comic book to film adaptation yet), V for Vendetta, A History of Violence, and the first two Superman films. From what I've been hearing, Superman Returns is expected to live up to the hype it's been buzzing and the Batman Begins sequel is expected to be a lot better than the first (PM me if you want to hear what the general synopsis of the film is so far, as well as a list of rumored characters who could appear in it). The only films Marvel has going for it are the first two X-Men Films and Spider-Man Films. Hulk was ok, but they dragged it on way too long. X-3 was, bleh. The Punisher (both of them) was nothing but your average action film. Ghost Rider looks like it's going to be a snore fest. And Fantastic Four was just an outright bastardization.
  14. Just got back from seeing it. I'll admit it was better than I thought it would be, but it still wasn't that great of a film. The ending just flat out sucked imo, and I hated how they cured/killed some of the major characters in the X-Men universe. Juggernaut and Angel should have had much more screen time and they should have elaborated a lot more on the Dark Phoenix thing. The only thing this film had going for it was the action scenes.
  15. QUOTE (Necromancer @ May 24 2006, 08:05 PM) Should be interesting and I can't wait regardless. Any comic book movie is a .... NOOOOOOOO... never mind I almost said that. For a brief moment I FORGOT Captain America and BATMAN 3 and 4. And Superman 3 & 4...
  16. I saw it last night. Unfortunately there were no protestors outside of the theater I was at, otherwise I would have had some fun with them... As for the movie, I thought it was pretty good.
  17. You can preview the new dvd here I can't wait...

  20. I'm not that impressed by it, but I'll still most likely go see it in the theaters.
