  1. "Wheels within wheels..."
  2. I'd love to hear something, of course, but it's still pretty early for a summer tour.
  3. We won't know and it's none of our business, but if I had to guess I would say they are firming up details as well building anticipation. There are a ton of logistics involved.
  4. If I had to pick one, I'd go with ASOH. I think Geddy had bad luck on both the TMT and CA DVDs. I was at the TMT concert, however, and he sounded great. To me, it's smarter to film earlier and to slow down the camera.
  5. I wonder if it was for feel or technical reasons. I noticed Limelight seemed slow right from the start, but thought it was just me. It sounded amazing though.
  6. They'll never drop the staples, because the overwhelming majority of people want to hear them and those songs sell tickets because casual fans hear those songs on the radio. I think they'll tour, but don't anticipate hearing anything until 2015.
  7. Very well said. (And yes, I think CA is some of his best work.)
  8. Who knows - even on their their "bad" nights they play well. I'd say each of them probably have one trainwreck per tour. It's truly remarkable given their music, age and length of the concert.
  9. I stand corrected. Nice job! You have some talent for sure.
  10. "Bitching like a bunch of 13 year old teenagers"? Really? Says the person who ends his comment with a mooning avatar. And no one bitched - they called you out. Yes, the are that hard to play. I never said impossible, but just about everyone feels Rush is hard to play. So post a video of just one song. You know, because they're not "that hard."
  11. Cut To The Chase would be great. Love the lyrics and Alex's solo in the middle. Another one I think would be great: High Water.
  12. For what it's worth, I do think they'll tour in 2015. Maybe not in the summer, but I bet they'll hit the road. They're too motivated, too healthy... And we know that Alex and Geddy have been playing. And Neil's tech Lorne mentioned a new kit. The time, cost and effort for that alone says something.
  13. You know I've never understood why Rush, or any band, has to end. I don't see why new members can't come aboard and "the band" always live. I mean, pick your favorite sports teams: they don't have any of the player and coaches that they had when they were first formed. I don't see why this can't apply to bands, too. Yeah, I know I'm gonna get banned for this heretical thinking. Are you for real? Rush whitout Geddy is no Rush! Rush whitout Alex is no Rush! Rush whitout Neil is no Rush (maybe if Rutsey would return from the dead and join Rush again, then that would count)! It is those three (four) that are Rush, no other! I don't see why this has to be the case. While we don't live forever, our memory can. You just invoked the name of Rutsey, a man that few people would know of if not for the fact that Rush, the band, is still an entity. Will that entity be somewhat different? Sure. But, the current members of Rush are always trying new things, so the changes would be less noticeable than with other bands. For example, half this forum hates Neil Peart, because of his lyrics. By definition, if a new drummer took his place, a portion of those people would be happy, for sure. It would never work, because unlike sports teams (which are a different dynamic anyway), they've been the same lineup for 40 years. And it's more than the just the name. Each member stands on their own and has a distinct appeal. They really are bigger (and more impressive) than the sum of their individual parts.
  14. I agree with all your points. Earlier I thought a tour was very likely - maybe around 80-90% - but now maybe 50/50 or so. Why? Rush themselves posted on FB yesterday the Rolling Stone article witih Geddy's comments.
  15. Or he's half Neil's age. I call bull. Can he play a Rush song? Maybe. But show us. Then play 20 songs with power and finesse, and repeat every other night.
  16. i don't think he should skip his solos entirely, they are pretty cool to watch and hear, but he could shorten them or only do one. No way he'll drop a solo. It's Rush tradition. And they challenge him.
  17. Syl, it's not playing ONE Rush song, it's the duration of the shows and tour. And he hits HARD. If you don't think that is hard, taxing and difficult, you're either Superman or full of it. It's not impossible, but no doubt it's a bitch. Granted, the lifestyle doesn't help, but it keeps him sane. Maybe he could drive instead. Or just find a way to hang with other guys.
  18. I bet that interview was done weeks ago.
  19. Who knows... Wonder if historically shows sell better if they start in May vs. say, October. I actually prefer indoor shows, but I wonder if there is any difference.
  20. I'd bet dinner at a hunting lodge that they will tour in 2015. -No way Neil's drum tech would publicly comment about a new kit if it weren't in the works -They know the clock is ticking -No money in album sales (comparitively speaking) -Geddy and Alex have both played live this fall (doubt that's a coincidence; both for charity and chops, I'm sure)
  21. Oh well. We'll know soon enough.
