  1. Available Light is in my top 5 Rush songs, sheesh people!
  2. QUOTE (Good, bad, andrush @ Dec 25 2010, 02:08 PM) That keyboard solo sounds incredibly outdated though; it sounds like something that would be playing in an educational 80's video about science. By that standard, "Tom Sawyer" and "Xanadu" should be next
  3. QUOTE (Good @ bad,andrush,Dec 22 2010, 10:07 AM)134.THE BIG WHEEL ...aaaaand I'm out.
  4. So you hate any song that repeats a word in the chorus? Up next: Show Don't Tell The Body Electric Stick it Out Half the World
  5. Not to join the crowd, but while you're intentions are only the best, I think Deckiller's concept should be left to Deckiller--at least in its current form. It's probable that he may never return and his list will go unknown, but it was fun to wait simply because the task had never been done before. With your list, while just as thorough and guaranteed to go until the end, I don't feel as much anticipation in waiting for each new post and it seems others share that feeling. As someone mentioned earlier, maybe just compile the entire list and either post it or link to it? Or maybe try a new spin on it (video or audio podcast?).
  6. As great as it is that they're hitting NA one more time (and getting to MI even though Detroit isn't exactly close), I just wish it was for a different tour. I wasn't exactly blown away by the set-list and now I'm debating whether or not I should pay to go see the exact same show or hold off until the CA tour.
  7. At the 07/05 Chicago show I noticed no problems on Alex's end. However I did notice some issues firstly with Geddy's keys (I believe Marathon was the song), some of the keyboard "moments" just didn't happen or weren't loud enough to be noticed. Next problem I saw was during Neil's solo, during the e-kit portion, nothing was coming out of the cymbal (or so it seemed to me). It was kind of disappointing to see Neil hitting away at the crash and not hearing every intricacy he wanted to include.
  8. Someone buying this perplexes me on so many levels: The only person who would want a recording of that show and spend that kind of money surely must be a big Rush fan, but a big Rush fan would instantly know that it's a bootleg and never spend that kind of money on that. Hope they think $80 (+$8 shipping) is worth it for an "acceptable" condition, non-professionally recorded bootleg that features "Workin' Them Angeles" (and don't even get me started on everything that's wrong with the warning on the back of the jewel case). Not to mention that the boys would never be seen on an album cover. And yes, a "promotional only item sold only in Japan." It makes so much sense to promote a North American tour in Japan. So many things wrong with that auction.
  9. Don't forget Signals (or signal) is mentioned in both Chemistry and New World Man. The one album title I would probably change is Fly by Night, I have no idea what I would change it to, but the title has always bored me ...
  10. QUOTE (JPRushHed @ Oct 25 2010, 10:07 PM) All credibility lost with How It Is being ranked so low. That is a Top 50 song.
  11. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Oct 21 2010, 08:47 PM) Can we officially now call this whole promotion a resounding failure? I've been calling it that since 5 minutes after I bought the damn thing
  12. Pretty sure I saw it leaving the 07/05 Chicago show. Was pulled up next to it thanks to the sinkhole on Lake Shore Drive. Wasn't 100% sure it was them, but I don't know what the chances are that another tourbus would be in that area at that time.
  13. To be honest, I think it should depend on how large the post-album tour is going to be. The current tour consists of smaller venues while previous tours have been arena and stadium affairs. If they plan on larger venues for the next leg, then I say hold back and wait to record those shows if they must. A concert film without a large crowd cheering behind it would be lacking something indefinitely. The current leg feels like (and to some extent, is) a warm-up tour (regardless of the significance of the Moving Pictures setlist), so I don't see a great reason to record now if they plan on an upcoming leg.
  14. -The Weapon -Countdown -Emotion Detector -Mystic Rhythms -Natural Science -Force Ten -Animate ...for starters...
  15. Received both of my packages today, one of them being the XL shirt which I've heard people having trouble with. I already posted my thoughts (in this thread) on most of the package prior to receiving it, so I won't repeat myself on those points. A couple things I would like to add is the shirt, while I still am irked about the design, is quite comfortable and fits nicely. The poster is even smaller than I expected (I'm not sure of the exact size, if someone could inform me that would be great) and the numbering is handwritten (unless it's written by the band themselves, I don't see why someone had to go through writing that 3500 times). By the way, who was lucky enough to have 2112/3500? The picks I discussed in the "haven't received package" thread. The DVD came in a nice sturdy cardboard packaging, I was expecting a typical cheap plastic one, so that was a nice surprise. Though it seems I was blown off 2 months ago when I requested that I possibly swap the DVD for Blu-Ray. The tour book quality-wise is nice to hold and and the pages are of nice glossy material, however I'm not too impressed with the content (maybe tourbooks published AFTER album releases are a little better), the pictures have their moments and at times quite informative, but overall, are typical shots. Neil can't quite elaborate fully on the experience since they only have 2 songs done at this point. I feel like the boys aren't as into this tour as they would be after Clockwork Angels is released. Just my (additional) 2 cents on the package.
  16. QUOTE (quickfree @ Jul 28 2010, 04:38 PM) Just got the VIP package today. Biggest surprise I thought was the guitar picks and magnet thats also for sale at backstage club. Don't remember if this was mentioned as part of the original package, but it seemed like a little extra something thrown in to make up for the shipping delay. The guitar picks were always meant to be part of the set. There was no mention of the magnet, but I wouldn't consider it an "extra" under any circumstance. The picks are barely held in their case and so any vertical placement causes them to fall out for the most part; if you lay it horizontally, you can't get them out. So I don't know what metal surfaces would be reasonable to place a set of guitar picks on. There are 1000 other ways they could have given us a little "extra" for the shipping delays rather than unnecessarily adding a magnet to guitar picks.
  17. Jesus, they really should have had more to choose from if that's the crap they're giving us. All the delays were because they hadn't settled on a t-shirt design or something along those lines, correct? And they finally come up with the most bland, least creative design they could come up with...the f'n logo...see, my entire shirt is a smiley (and at least this one flashes). What's wrong with saying, oh I don't know...Rush Time Machine Tour 2010? How about giving us a voucher to choose from a selection of t-shirts? For a "specially designed" t-shirt, I feel bad for those fans who probably already have a shirt exactly like this one, who like the rest of us, expected an ounce of creativity. On to the poster...why on earth is it a small version of the Fly By Night cover? Seriously, why? Again, what's wrong with a poster that reads...Rush Time Machine Tour 2010? The Fly By Night album has absolutely nothing to do with the tour at all (they didn't even play a song from it on the damn tour). If they're going to be album specific, why not let us choose the album? Fly By Night is in the bottom 5 of my list of favorite Rush albums and now I have to display it proudly because I will feel even more jipped than I already was if I don't. Don't even get me started on the whole "limited edition" crap either (out of 3500?). What is the point in numbering it? Augh, well this will teach me to ever buy a VIP package again. Maybe next time they can actually let the fans know what everything will look like before we buy it. I wish there was someway I could boycott this crap and make some exchanges because as of right now, I feel like I spent 350 (x2) for merchandise, like someone said, I "could make myself." P.S. (Thanks for giving us the spare copies of Working Men from the warehouse that no one ever bought, 2 tracks that everyone else on the face of the earth has already bought over a month ago, 10 pieces of plastic that will be lost in a week, a DVD, without a choice of Blu-Ray, that everyone has either seen in theaters or bought...the tourbook is cool, I guess.)
  18. I would be either or if I went to the show and the show mostly consisted of pre-MP material. There are a few songs that I actually like from that period, but for the most part I never was able to get into the material then. It was MP (and maybe PeW) that was the true beginning of for me. Anything before then = boring, imo.
  19. 1. Subdivisions 2. The Enemy Within 3. The Weapon 4. Witch Hunt 5. Freeze 6. Scars 7. Mission 8. Prime Mover 9. Available Light 10. Lock and Key -Drum Solo- 11. The Big Money 12. Grand Designs 13. Manhattan Project 14. Marathon 15. Territories 16. Middletown Dreams 17. Emotion Detector 18. Mystic Rhythms Encore: 19. Where's My Thing? 20. Limelight
  20. Middletown Dreams for sure because it hasn't been played since 85 (and it's an amazing song). I know everyone here seems to be sick of The Big Money, but it's quite possibly my favorite off the album and since I've never seen it live, I would love it
