  1. Is some one upset? :P Yes, I'm upset. I'm tired of the fanboys and fanatics. I'm 61 years old, not some starry-eyed kid. I have responsibilities. It's pathetic that some here can get past their obsessions. Why would that upset you? It's just a cocky opinion. I didn't even know an R40 DVD is available or will be available (soon?). A month later their opinion won't matter. Hell, NOW their opinion doesn't matter. What upset me was the fact that a few got upset because I didn't want to shell out money for something I already had. I have bootlegs from the tour. I think I have three or four complete shows. The only thing different in the R40 official dvd is the location of the concert - Toronto. It seemed a few couldn't understand why anyone wouldn't want to do that because, after all, its RUSH. Johnny, you can pre-order it now on Amazon. I think the official release date is November 20th or something like that. are you sure people were upset? or maybe they were just talking bullshit on the internet and you took something personally that wasn't mean that way?
  2. haha i was thinking that the jays better come back and win or it might kill him, and no one wants that!
  3. it's very nice that Geddy is enjoying the baseball game with his son! the jays being in the playoffs must be helping him not get too depressed over the end of Rush! i could swat my wife, though, she's all OOOH HE'S SO CUTE! yarg.
  4. I already have every song from the tour including both versions of Losing It. yep, shitty bootleg recordings, so exciting. Some of them are done very well. And they are exciting to watch. the bootleg videos are kinda fun in a bad video kind of way but i don't really care that much about the video, i'm just in it for some high quality live audio. every bootleg i've ever heard has sounded pretty crappy, even the ones people have told me sound BETTER THAN AN OFFICIAL RECORDING OMG!!!!! the best ones i've ever heard sound kind of like an FM radio playing loud in the next room.

  6. I find it.. fascinating. :fuckinputer: we're even getting BOTH version of that losing it dirge! i'm amazed people aren't cumming in their pants
  7. why are people disappointed? we're getting every song from the tour!
  8. looks good, my wife will probably play it a million times
  9. this is a stupid thread that everyone seems to be missing the point of
  10. it's my favorite rush album, nearly perfect.
  11. Holy cow, I don't think I've ever seen a more inaccurate internet statement. :) Jeepers. :D Sonically, I couldn't believe how heavy VT sounded when I first heard it. I called it Rush metal. I think people on here have different definitions about what "hard rocking" means? The verse of Earthshine, the breakdown in Secret Touch, and as mentioned Peaceable Kingdom are as sonically crunchy as anything they have ever done. Don't need fast tempos or smoking guitar solos to be hard rocking which is what some people believe. good to see some VT love here, I agree with your summation as it pertains to the debut album! it is revered only because some people can't let go of their teenaged selves not that there's aything wrong with that
  12. [if I remember Gemini correctly] IMHO, he had the appeal of Gilbert Gottfried and that boss from Office Space combined. http://www.movieactors.com/photos-stars/gilbert-gottfried-problemchild-2.jpg http://www.thecitrusreport.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/office_space_26-605x340.png some people like that kind of thing!
  13. Forced? How do you figure that? i think he's being hyperbolic
  14. clockwork angels and the vt remix are my favorite Rush albums
  15. Wish them well is a great song, superconductor not so much.
  16. i think that whole i'm not better than you thing is bullshit. i definitely get the impression that neil thinks he's better than most people. i think he wrote those oh so personal books of his because he loves the attention, and he loves having people interested in him and hanging on his every word, and he also loves playing the part of a burdened shy genius who doesn't want the attention. he also loves having a platform on which to air his anger towards the world. his books are full of complaining about everything that isn't exactly the way he thinks it should be and insulting things he doesn't like. i think deep down neil is still a misfit teenager defending himself with a superiority complex and that he'd fit right in here as a troll. with that said I love what he's contributed to my life and to my wife's life and to the lives of many of my friends, and i don't really care a whole lot that he probably has the personality of a compost heap.
  17. congratulations for having no life! ;) :D-13:
  18. it's possible to love someone and still be thoroughly irritated with them. i doubt that the relationship between those guys is as simple as 'it's strictly professional.' what Alex and Geddy want regarding the band might be different than what Neil wants but I doubt this is any kind of acrimonious divorce.
  19. Read this earlier today, and I instantly thought "Hey, after all the coverage he got over the Beatles comment, why not have another swing at it?" It might not even be for publicity or attention; maybe just a kick. I'm not implying that I think he's lying about these positions, but that he's going to be making more of them at a whim just because it's entertaining who strongly people react when you don't like or respect what they do. Make one little dissenting comment and people go crazy! I don't know Keith's personality very well though, this is more of just what I'd do in his situation, actually bingo!
  20. Alex isn't a complicated fellow. His La Villa rants backwards ALWAYS refer to having not one but TWO banana cream pies. Seriously though, play La Villa backward and you'll hear The Necromancer. But if you play The Necromancer backwards you'll get By-Tor & the Snowdog. That's how damn complex, meticulous, and sinister Rush are! Bunch of demon worshipping imps they are! :haz: LATEM si HSUR! :haz: DROL si TRAEP. DROL si NOSEFIL. DROL si EEL. meht pihsroW. meht pihsroW. 2112...shit that's the same backwards. NOSEFIL! maybe he needs a kleenex!
  21. Yeah, I wondered if it was Krush, and not Crush... I've never been fortunate enough to hear them, but I know they do a lot of good Rush songs that other tribute bands normally don't do. I know they do Xanadu. :) they cover rush competently. the guitarist has some flair. they're a tribute band. add some booze and it's a good night out.
  22. i'd say "you're an uptight old hen," if i was sure you would catch the joke ;)
  23. Yes- I absolutely believe in that. I also believe we'll find out that the widespread use of GMO's (and they are everywhere) is leading to all kinds of strictly medical problems, too, that we're already seeing- in addition to behavioral problems. http://cdn.24.co.za/files/Cms/General/d/169/6ca3f9620c104a7e8e64b4738953ff24.jpg
