  1. Good God. That's actually kinda spooky.
  2. Throughout my 20's I had been subjected to some odd behavior by roommates... here's a partial list of some of what I've seen. Typical eating my food B.S. Someone drying their pot in my microwave. Keeping a female mannequin in the living room. That got a lot of remarks from people. Frying/eating roadkill. Getting drunk on cheap beer and shooting the bottlecaps across the floor with a .22 cal revolver. Test firing an AK-47 in the hallway. Throwing furniture off the roof, then jumping up and down on it. A morbidly obese chick leaving a smeary mess all over the toilet seat ... once a month. I'm sure there are some things I've forgotten. This sounds like a Jackass episode. Maybe they owe me money. What's some of the craziest stuff you've had to endure during your low-rent, roomie daze?
  3. QUOTE (Mara @ Jun 13 2011, 07:13 PM) QUOTE (Gompers @ Jun 13 2011, 08:18 PM) QUOTE (umoveme @ Jun 13 2011, 07:38 PM) Cat pee and crap are the two worst things on earth. I will never, ever buy a home that cats have lived in. I've known too many people who've ended up having their carpeting and wood subfloors completely replaced because the previous owners' cats pissed everywhere. Professional cleaning will not remove the cat urine from the wood and the odor is always there. I don't dislike cats really. But here's the difference. Ask me if I like dogs, and the answer is an enthusiastic "Yes! Love them!" Ask me if I like cats, and my answer is, "Depends on the cat." Some are just sweet and playful and friendly (like dogs) and you cannot help but like them. Others are standoffish little assholes who won't think twice about sinking their claws and fangs into you, with no warning, because you somehow offended their delicate cat sensibilities. If I ever got a cat, I'd get an adult, because with a kitten you never have any idea what its personality will be like once it's grown. You can raise a kitten with all the love in the world and it might STILL grow up with a nasty attitude towards people. Totally agree. My wife likes cats and wants to get one. My reaction was, "OK, as long as it's an adult and can tolerate me as well." I won't put up with craziness or destructivenss. Then it's like having an asshole roomate. Had plenty of those in an earlier stage of life.
  4. QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Jun 13 2011, 02:08 PM) Yeah when my brother was little he liked throwing bread at my father's cadillac, which when left out in the rain, did some kind of weird bonding reaction and stuck to the car. Bread was not easy to remove. Weird. 25+ yrs in the auto biz and I've never heard of that one! I'm an auto detailer for a car dealership. I take our cars to work and use the facilities there.
  5. I had a dog that ate kitty Tootsie Rolls.
  6. I don't know a whole lot about Hawkwind, I don't think they were that popular here in America. The albums are hard to find. I do like some of the stuff I've found on Youtube, though.
  7. QUOTE (vital signz @ Jun 6 2011, 03:56 PM) This is a crazy album.... I will attempt to describe it. Schizophrenic? Manic? Balls to the wall? Brass Knuckle Beating of the Mind? Syncopated tsunami of sound? This is the most interesting album I have ever heard. Ever. I just can't believe the songs from these guys. Josh Homme is the weakest link...I do not care for his vocals at all and the are way too low in the mix, but it somehow works with their sound. I think Grohl is a far better singer, but there is no way he could be singing lead and playing those time signatures. I would recommend it just to hear what Alternative Sonar Schizophrenic Tsunamic Rock Music really sounds like! You should really try some Mr. Bungle if you want crazy... It does have a lot of Josh Homme all over the album, and it's as off-center as QOTSA's last album. I don't think most people here on this site like any of Homme's projects that much. I think I tested the waters with a poll on Kyuss and was largely met with indifference.
  8. A new Ritchie Blackmore in the making...
  9. "Saturday, in the park, I think it was the 4th of J---*scuffle* HEY! I'm tired of quiet zones. They're trying to enforce them in my town where all the bands play because a few new condos were built. Weenies.

  11. QUOTE (treeduck @ Jun 6 2011, 11:23 AM) Ozzy is cool, I'm not sure I want to hug him necessarily, maybe a kind of toy punch on the shoulder as a compromise... Just don't make me spill my beer...
  12. No dairies in Canada? Hmmm. Well, doesn't that Neil Purt dude live in California now? Maybe he can get some land there and feed his stock on Hershey's chocolate... instant choclate milk, right?

    Pet peeve list

    1. Slobs. Working with messy people who leave their shiite everywhere, even in your work space. 2. People who are ALWAYS in... a... f-ing... hurry. SETTLE DOWN! The only probable exception to this is when I'm driving. Probably the only time I'm ever a competitive person.
  15. QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Jun 3 2011, 02:03 PM) I think any poll option with the word "bacon" in it will automatically hit #1. I should write a song called Bacon! You should. I can come up with a meaty bass line for it...
  16. Always liked VT. Haven't stopped liking it and likely won't.
  17. Happy birthday, you metal maniac!
  18. Try this one out. This was also on that tape set. Probably my favorite. http://youtu.be/lrV9NTAXkMU
  19. I have this on VHS somewhere. A 2-tape set of old Sabbath footage from 1970 to the late '80's, early '90's. Cool stuff.
  20. Was this trip necessary?
  21. Bacon. Especially if it's still frying in the pan.
  22. Jelly beans make dandy little projectiles... that's about it.
