  1. QUOTE (lerxt1990 @ Sep 13 2012, 06:27 PM) I dont like it being dropped. Its +our+ song, classic, good song, hands in the air, a bonding moment for all the fans whether near the beinning or end of the show. +very+ sorry to see it go and would have traded TS or (and especially) working man to listen to it.
  2. QUOTE (hermy @ Sep 7 2012, 01:10 PM) YYZ with a strings is the first sound check! Amazing! Very cool! So the last song of sound check is usually the opener right? I can't wait to know what that might be.
  3. QUOTE (Alchemical @ Sep 7 2012, 10:57 AM) QUOTE (farcryoverspilledmilk @ Sep 7 2012, 01:44 PM)You obviously don't read well. That post was ripped from another thread about guess the set list game. That post had nothing to do with what was posted yesterday. Did the planets somehow align for you to have guessed Losing It/Manhattan Project/Marathon/Nobody's Hero were on the setlist a couple days before you actually found out from some journalist? And why would a journalist know the setlist or even songs they were rehearsing?
  4. QUOTE (rocketom @ Sep 6 2012, 02:32 PM) I just hope they play Tom Sawyer and Spirit of Radio, I never heard them before and this will be my 13th tour. Good news......they are playing the two you mentioned.......... plus LIMELIGHT!
  5. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Sep 6 2012, 12:57 PM) Every tour there are rumor threads started. More often than not, they have turned out to be completely false. Keep that in mind before you start getting yourself excited or pissed off. That being said, Rush did swap out songs on the Test for Echo tour. If memory serves me right, they swapped Totem and The Color of Right? I can't remember exactly but I do know they have done it FOH Lights is credible so if he's alluding to this info being false, then it's probably false Yes, FOH is very credible... and the fact that he didn't discount the other information, is interesting to say the least.
  6. QUOTE (Karena @ Sep 6 2012, 12:36 PM) QUOTE (Torgo Satyr @ Sep 6 2012, 03:21 PM) I think it's funny that many are worried from this spoiler info that this RUSH show will be mellow because they are mellowing in their older age...LOL... Um... let's see...Far Cry, Caravan, Headlong Flight, The Anarchist, Carnies, 7 Cities, BU2B, Clockwork Angles... pretty sure those will be in the show, along w/ obvious barn burners like Freewill, TSOR, etc. Mellow??? Uh..no. So we're not getting an official setlist leak? Was there one the last tour? I'm sure one will leak tonight....that is, if someone is able to get close enough to the arena to listen to the dress rehearsal.
  7. QUOTE (FOH Lights @ Sep 6 2012, 11:59 AM) QUOTE (farcryoverspilledmilk @ Sep 6 2012, 12:39 PM)The band has made the decision to rehearse the entire record and leave the options open this round to drop 2 and put 2 songs in. The complete record will not be performed on a nightly basis. Hmmm, I think your friend might have misunderstood his source. Changing things up nightly, every other night, or anything other than mid-tour break, would be rather out of character. Don't ya think? But I guess a journalist for the Union Leader Newspaper and a fellow Rush fan of OP's would know... Agreed. Swapping out new material does not make much sense to me.
  8. My wife and I switched seats last tour when the guy next to her threw up on himself and then passed out. It's hard enough to drag her to a Rush show... and then we end up sitting next to "that guy".
  9. Wow...they have done an amazing job keeping everything under wraps up until now. I doubt we'll get any setlist leaks until tomorow night when they do their full rehearsal. Still keeping fingers crossed we hear something today!
  10. QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 4 2012, 01:20 PM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Sep 4 2012, 04:15 PM) QUOTE (losingit2k @ Sep 4 2012, 12:49 PM) QUOTE (hermy @ Sep 3 2012, 11:18 PM) We'll break this down one more time for the short bus students. Alex has amps. Geddy has Gump. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d153/avplanners/ScreenShot2012-09-03at111047PM.png The riser will be where the snares and cases are in this pic. It will elevate them just enough to be seen over Neil. They will come and go quietly behind the other items like Neil does when he comes on stage. Howards keen abilities will allow for darkened transitions....except sunlit outdoor arenas. Isn't this a shot of Neil's drums from behind? Where did "the riser" in question go? Is it one of those new disappearing- reappearing risers I've heard so much about? This image is from the TMT tour. The image with Gump sticking his tongue out is from the CA rehearsals. The two images are not related. A likely story! I'm not buying it. The guy who posted this image (hermy) said this: Please note the second pic I referenced is still the Time Machine tour. It just served as a good reference for my point.

  12. QUOTE (dayglow76 @ Sep 3 2012, 09:02 PM) Yeah the guy with PHOTO EVIDENCE always wins. Sorry. Geez why would you even argue? Hermy thank you,I for one very much appreciate your efforts. Because the picture is from the TMT and not CA...that's why.
  13. The guy posts a picture from the TMT and he's the expert on staging for the upcoming tour? Wow...get a clue people.
  14. QUOTE (hermy @ Sep 3 2012, 08:18 PM) We'll break this down one more time for the short bus students. Alex has amps. Howards keen abilities will allow for darkened transitions....except sunlit outdoor arenas. We all appreciate your condescending tone. However, in all reality, this is pure speculation on your part. What you suggest does not even make sense. If they were directly behind Neil they would need to be on an 6 to 8 foot riser; just to be visible. Add another 3-4 feet at least of torso and now they are projected 9-12 feet behind and above Neil. It would look awkward and weird...plus as I said earlier, they would block the video screen. No one knows for sure.... and we'll find out in 4 days. But until then...I'll go back and take my seat on the "short" bus and do as I'm told.
  15. The only location that makes any sense for the string section...is directly behind Geddy...ya know, where his amps would go if he had any. They can't be behind Alex because that would put them directly "in front" of Alex's amps. He DOES have amps. That would not work at all. I don't really see them being behind Neil either. Neil's kit is already elevated and that would require the string section to be severely elevated over him just to be seen. Now...they would be in the way of the video screen. Plus they need to be where they can have floor monitors for reference.
  16. QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 2 2012, 06:45 PM) QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Sep 2 2012, 09:19 PM) QUOTE (J2112YYZ @ Sep 2 2012, 05:47 PM) No, Caravan is not a song that was a huge hit that absolutely everyone will know right away. When was the last time Rush opened their concert with a song that wasn't a big hit for them? They've always done that and I don't see that trend changing with this tour. Force 10 on both the Presto and RTB tour. I don't think that song was a hit. It's actually kind of a weird opener IMO as well. I remember in the late 80s and early 90s our local radio station used to play Force Ten regularly. So, to me it was always a hit. Weather you see the song that way or not isn't the point though. Rush just isn't gonna open their shows today with a song everyone won't recognize immediately. Yeah, that's true...it will be a song that people recognize. I just don't think Force 10 is THAT song. I could be wrong, but the average fan might not even know it at all. I think the opener will be Subdivisions, Deamline or 2112.

  19. Great song..terrible opener. New World Man, Subdivisions and The Analog Kid would make much better openers
  20. QUOTE (BU2BoneU @ Sep 2 2012, 07:51 AM) Going off of what songs they usually play, we can suspect these songs below. I feel pretty much guaranteed that all of these will be played Tom Sawyer Limelight YYZ Freewill TSOR Working Man Closer to the Heart Subdivisions 2112 overture/temples Then a few songs from CA Clockwork Angels The Anarchist Carnies The Wreckers The Garden Seven Cities of Gold Headlong Flight I think they will drop Working Man and CTTH. But you are right about the other songs.
  21. QUOTE (Jomboni @ Sep 2 2012, 06:53 AM) The opening song is going to be either a hit song that everybody knows, or Caravan.
