  1. QUOTE (amish_ashaman @ Jun 29 2010, 02:20 AM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Jun 29 2010, 12:28 AM) QUOTE (Kenneth @ Jun 29 2010, 12:24 AM) I'm not usually disappointed with this band but that first set looks terrible. the 2nd is fine. Doesn't live up to the excitement of the imagery I got when I read "Time Machine Tour." that's because they're catering to the casual fan again while pitching a few bisquits towards the die hards. What biscuits for the die hards? Last tour gave us three(Entre Nous, Circumstances, Bangkok). I don't see any this time, except for maybe TCE. Jacob's Ladder was a pretty big f***ing biscuit but I see your point. I love Rush so much that I hate them. I hate them for not playing the songs I want to hear (and were supposed to play) but I love them for still touring in 2010. Why couldn't Toto have had that kind of resolve? The horror....the horror.... Regardless, they're my favorite band even though I hate the bastards. Those sorry son's of bitches are playing Stick It Out when they should be playing Jacob's Ladder? What balls! They're pissing right in our faces while pocketing our hard earned money! Damn them straight to hell! Whatever the setlist turns out to be, I'm sure I'll be mad as a hornet about something.... But when they're gone and retired and shooting elk in Manitoba, or basking in the Maui sun, or taking pottery lessons wherever you take pottery lessons, we'll be wishing they were still touring and playing songs like Stick It Out. Maybe......
  2. Awesome. I've got 6 days before I see it for real. That's cool as hell. So the washing machines are time machines now? I love this band!

Workin' Them Angels 7. Faithless (never played live) 8. BU2B (new song - never played live) That's going to suck.... I really hope this isn't the real setlist, as everyone else is saying; it could be way better. Suck? Nah! "Workin' Them Angels" is a great song and "BU2B" is excellent. And "Faithless" is pretty good. Personally, I would replace "Faithless" with something else. I like faithless and a part of BU2B. I don't like the idea of the atheism they're going to be pouring over the crowd when they play those 3 in a row ..As I've said many times, I'm not very religious at all, but it bugs me when Atheists preach too. "Workin' Them Angels" is not about atheism. but it still sucks do you just want to correct me or do you agree? Faithless + BU2B = Overkill. I like Rush. They are good. I think they will put on a good show tomorrow. I think Scott Stapp's band should open for them. He is very religious and stuff. Neil might not like him though. Because Neil thinks differently than Scott does. I think Scott really sucks though. Neil doesn't. Neil is awesome. f**k Scott Stapp and his band. Maybe Scott shouldn't open for Rush. It would cause kontrowversee. Which would be not very good. Because Neil should be allowed to.......... Are we seriously going to religion again? I thought this was about a setlist? Seriously! I don't want to read this shit. I want to talk about Jacob's Ladder and stuff. Rolling around in fly paper and then f***ing a bag of Doritos would be more enjoyable than this schlock. I guess the reason why this time the anti-religion is getting to me is because my dad will be there with me, and he's religious. Understood. I think he'll be able to handle it though. It's not that deep. You two should just concentrate on enjoying the show. I only dream of being able to see Rush with my father. Talk to trenken. He'll know what to do. Yeah, you're right, It's unnecessary for me to be this concerned. I'm sure he won't even care much. Exactly right. Now you're getting it! Don't get all bent out of shape over something that's supposed to be one of those great moments in life. It's not worth it.

Faithless + BU2B = Overkill. It's two songs out of 26 listed - 3 if you go Angels > Faithless > BU2B. I don't think it's overkill. Neil's been writing anti-organized religion stuff for over 35 years, how is this surprising to anyone by this point? he has? how come I never noticed it until S&A In the 90's, ghost of a chance.. Anything else earlier was really obscure in and hidden in the lyrics, but people still like to use that information just to say: "this is old news, get over it!" anyways... Are you guys really wanting to have a pissing contest over how you interpret Neil's lyrics? If so....exchange numbers and talk about it over the phone. This shit really isnt all that interesting to others. Unless you want to throw a sheep, candle wax, and fisting into the mix. Then I'm on board! You have to include some hard drugs in there too. That would make great reality TV on VH-1 or something. Until then, I grow weary. This is Rock and Roll right? Am I wrong?

  7. All I can say to that is I don't know what the sheep is supposed to mean. I've always wanted to try it out though. I think I like it. Alex rocks.....
  8. QUOTE (RobW @ Jun 28 2010, 11:10 PM) Wow, do I wish I was less than 24 hrs from seeing I'd be all like About 6 days for me and I'm already like....
  9. QUOTE (Mara @ Jun 28 2010, 10:12 PM) Welcome to TRF, and thank you SO much for sharing those! They're awesome. Seriously - usually when people have "old" photos of Rush, they're not that great. Those look professional. Agreed. It's hard to believe they were taken almost 30 years ago. Great stuff dude!
  10. I liked his rant but I doubt he'll do it again. He might ramble something for a few seconds but nothing like he did on VT. I wouldn't worry about that too much this time around. By the end of VT, I'm sure it was starting to get old, not to mention exhausting for Alex. It's a pretty safe bet to say the rant has run it's course.
  11. There are 24 hours in a day?
  12. QUOTE (1dgbass @ Jun 28 2010, 10:08 PM) Hey All, Just wondering if on the new Tour do you think they will play much off power windows. For me this is probably one of my favorite Rush albums. Love the keyboards. I have never seen Rush and I am really looking forward to it. Peece. I'm thinking Marathon is about it dude. I love that album as well. Maybe next tour we'll see some more from it. It's been 20 years since Marathon though and it's one of my favorite songs they do live so I'm stoked about that. You'll know for sure tomorrow what we can expect from PW. Never seen Rush huh? You're in for one hell of a show regardless of what they play. It's a little different than a show on DVD. Even when you have a bullshit seat. You'll see....
  13. QUOTE (Mara @ Jun 28 2010, 08:30 PM) QUOTE (Andrew1 @ Jun 28 2010, 07:25 PM) Hi Mara! I would send it. I understand where you're coming from though. That would totally fu#king suck if you somehow lost that tourbook but I seriously don't see that happening. By any chance, could you send me that info.? I have that tourbook too. It's not bound in leather, but I'd like to send mine. Here's an idea. I'll send mine out first and if all goes well, I'll contact you and let you know how it went. That way maybe you could feel a little better about the situation. By the way, I think you're totally hot. When you send me the details for sending out my tourbook to get signed, could you send some bikini pics of you as well? Thank you. I'm editing this because I've just read some of the other posts. It doesn't sound like such a great idea now. (sending out your tourbook. NOT the pics of you in a bikini which is a great idea.) I would do it anyway because if you did get it back, what a prize. If you do send me the details, I'll look at it and possibly be able to give you some better advice. I still want to send out my tourbook though regardless of what others are saying. It's worth the risk to me. But then again, my tourbook is not as rare as yours. Let me know..... Okay. You are a riot, Andrew - never fail to make me smile! Um, in order to send bikini pics, I'd have to have a bikini! I like bathing suits I can actually swim in, though! Correction -it's not leather bound (Andrew, neither am I, sorry). I think there may have been a few of these released in the leather; mine isn't one of them. But it's nice, and very rare. I will try to find a link to a pic of one (mom has my digital camera). Once in a while they do pop up on eBay and they sell for over $400, usually. Mine's in mint condition, as I've looked at it maybe 3 times, including just now when I went to check on the leather cover thing. Not shipping. Too many horror stories. All it takes is one dishonest asshole, or one careless postal employee (though we know that NEVER happens). No bikini pics? Nude will suffice then. I'm not that particular. You could send me a pic of you eating hot wings on a tractor dressed like a dealer in a casino and I'd be happy Mara! One thing I don't understand though. Why would they offer this to people when it seems to have such negative feedback and lack of success? I still want to try it though. Were you going to send me the details or maybe point me in the right direction? Just wondering.
  14. QUOTE (shaun3701 @ Jun 28 2010, 08:22 PM) QUOTE (GeddyLeefan2112 @ Jun 28 2010, 07:20 PM) In the interest of keeping this thread from getting locked, I'm sorry I even replied to him. I just felt offended someone would say something like that. On topic: I'm wildly excited for this setlist, if it's true. Presto, Time Stand Still, Marathon, La Villa.... I think it's a pretty damn good setlist but this is only my second Rush show ever. right, but it's perfectly fine for Neil to publicly offend billions of people across the globe who believe in God Seriously guys. Do we need to get trenken into this so he can straighten everyone out? My god I'm hilarious! I really need to kick that dream of being a stand-up comedian into high gear. Anyway, why is it so difficult to discuss a possible setlist without turning it into some bullshit?
  15. QUOTE (SpiritOfRush @ Jun 25 2010, 01:47 PM) QUOTE (Dax @ Jun 24 2010, 06:01 PM) I'll take Kid Gloves, Afterimage, or The Enemy Within. Me too...but for me I would add The Body Electric to the list (call me crazy, but I like that song ever since I heard it prior to release on the p/g warm up tour at Radio City)!!! I agree. I love P/G, but Kid Gloves is one of the songs I most likely would pick to NOT be played live. Not because I dislike the song, I like it a great deal actually. The other songs on that album, (which is probably my favorite) are just so much better in my opinion. That's what I think of P/G as a whole. I would rather hear them play Kid Gloves over so many others though. I'm sure you know what I mean. There are always going to be those shows where you're saying to yourself, "Why did they play this when they could've played that?" They just have too many songs over so many years. I would hate to have to come up with a setlist if I was a member of that band. I think the best setlist they ever came up with was the VT tour. Very balanced and kick-ass from start to finish. Two albums later (or 3 if you want to include Feedback) how do you decide what to drop so you can play new stuff and keep all of the fans fairly satisfied? It's impossible. We just have to go with it and hope for whatever we think is the best. Fu#K it! I say open the Time Machine with Kid Gloves! It could be a lot worse right?
  16. QUOTE (Zanadoo @ Jun 24 2010, 06:38 PM) QUOTE (Hemispheres89 @ Jun 24 2010, 05:25 PM) Probably the only song I truly enjoy off of GUP. It would surely be a gem, but I doubt it wow you need to listen to p/g again. No shit.
  17. Yeah! What's up with no Jacob's Ladder?! That's the only thing that disappoints me and the only reason for that is that I was told beforehand that it would be played. Otherwise, I don't think the setlist is too bad. Marathon? I've been waiting for that to come back since Presto. (My first concert and the only time I've ever seen it live...) I thought Stick It Out was a strange song to throw in there. I would have rather heard War Paint instead of Presto but that's just me. But like a lot of others are saying, this is probably not the real setlist. A few things aren't adding up because of what's been revealed up until this point. We will know soon enough though I guess. No Jacob's Ladder? Damn it!! Why the hell would they drop that and go with Stick It Out? I like SIO but come on man!
  18. Hi Mara! I would send it. I understand where you're coming from though. That would totally fu#king suck if you somehow lost that tourbook but I seriously don't see that happening. 19. QUOTE (Cyclops @ Jun 24 2010, 09:21 AM) Is it wrong that I like to stand for the whole show? I know that we're all fans, so maybe you'll understand that when I'm psyched for a Rush show, I mean I am PSYCHED for the show. After months of anticipation, I have so much energy on show day, I can barely contain it, and there is no way I can plant my ass in a chair for 3 hours while my favorite band is playing live. No dude. It's not wrong at all. There is no way in hell I could sit through a Rush show. Not even after shooting up 50 cc of horse tranquilizer. (Which I highly recommend by the way)
  20. QUOTE (Pause Rewind Replay @ Jun 26 2010, 05:09 PM) I see some replies so far echo my first thought... "do we really need TS? nah" Anyway, here's mine... 1. Bastille Day 2. Anthem 3. Something For Nothing 4. Cinderella Man 5. Subdivisions 6. Between The Wheels 7. Lock And Key 8. Territories 9. Show Don't Tell 10. Cut To The Chase 11. Test For Echo 12. Earthshine 13. Vapor Trail 14. Workin' Them Angels 15. Natural Science 16. Witch Hunt 17. We Hold On 18. War Paint 19. Cold Fire 20. The Spirit Of Radio Love seeing War Paint for your encore. That song is awesome live.
  21. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jun 24 2010, 11:40 PM) QUOTE (Mara @ Jun 14 2010, 09:31 AM) QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Jun 14 2010, 10:15 AM) QUOTE (Tarkus407 @ Jun 13 2010, 06:56 PM)Closer to the Heart. That's the only one. I Love the song, but it's been done enough (I know, not since 2002, but from 1977 to 2002 is enough) "Tom Sawyer" being played on every tour since late 1980 isn't enough? You know, I really am curious about how we'd all react if Tommy were left off the setlist. (I know, not gonna happen, we know it's a given because of the whole MP thing). Would we really be that pumped about it or would we all walk out thinking that something just didn't seem quite right? I would, quite literally, cheer if Tom Sawyer were left off the setlist (next tour, of course). There are certain songs that I've heard so many times in my life that I can't remember what was so great about them to begin with. Tom Sawyer tops the list. Freewill. Stairway to Heaven. Anything from The Wall or Dark Side of the Moon. More than a Feeling. There's a few others. Anyway, I'd like to see 'em leave off pretty much anything that's been played more than three tours consecutively. Give us a show of rarities. Don't go overboard, we don't need Dog Years, I Think I'm Going Bald and Tears, but... yeah. Songs I hope they don't play... pretty much all the standards. When I saw the VT tour, we got there a little late. We arrived at our seats about a minute into Distant Early Warning. I thought it was the opening song and I never thought to ask anyone around me if anything was played before that. (For those of you who don't know, Tom Sawyer was the opener on that tour.) A couple of days later, it hit me that they didn't play Tom Sawyer. Of course I thought it was strange they left it out of the setlist, but at the time, I didn't even miss it. Like I said before, it took me a couple of days to even realize they didn't play it. I don't know what my point is. I was just reading these posts, and it made me think of that.
  22. QUOTE (Echoes @ Jun 23 2010, 09:18 PM) QUOTE (Xanadu93 @ Jun 23 2010, 01:49 PM)Hell, add in "War Paint" This times a million Fu*k Yes!
  23. QUOTE (TampaRushFan @ Jun 21 2010, 08:54 PM) 1. Red Barchetta 2. Bastille Day 3. The Trees 4. Force Ten 5. Spirit of Radio Spirit of Radio and Red Barchetta? Yeah, there's a pretty good chance you're not going to hear those. You're not asking for much are you? But good luck to you anyway!
  24. 25. QUOTE (tick @ Jun 21 2010, 02:08 PM) I will go with, No One At The Bridge. I agree with tick here. I'll also add the first thing that popped in my head which was Cygnus-X1. If Ged tried to hit those notes today, he'd never sing again.
