  1. Raising a virtual glass of The Macallan in his honour. RIP Neil.
  2. Think it refers to death of manager Ray Daniels' son from a brain tumor that day (or maybe day before). See Neil's latest news posting on his website where he alludes to this.
  3. QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Oct 5 2012, 08:54 AM) QUOTE (MMCXII @ Oct 5 2012, 02:37 AM) Best suggestions so far are Page and Gene Simmons. Page for his status and Simmons for entertainment value. Gene would surely bring up the Kiss snub but that would also be entertaining.. Does it need to be a past inductee to qualify? Also what's the possibility that Rush would perform at the ceremonies? If so they should do The Garden! Isn't it 100% they will perform? Going back to my OP, does Rush pick who inducts them? If that's the case, I think they'd go low profile...like that Donna whatshername that played their record. Their style is always very low key I agree it would be someone low key. Wouldn't be surprised if it was someone like Kim Mitchell from Max Webster (but that may be too low key for the U.S.) or Matt Scannell of Vertical Horizon (Peart's in love with that guy).
  4. QUOTE (Rushrks @ Aug 30 2012, 06:25 PM) Very excited to see a shipping notification for my gold edition, I had my receipt in hand at 10:02 so hoping i got a very low number edition. I didn't get any shipping notice. Even better!!!! My gold edition package showed up at my door today. Got number 10. It's well packaged and looks really awesome!!!!!!
  5. QUOTE (BrightAntennae @ Aug 28 2012, 07:13 PM) My "guess" is we'll hear strings on: The Anarchist Halo Effect The Wreckers The Garden Mission Losing It I'm surprised it's only 6 songs (approximately) as rumored by FOH. I was expecting at least a couple more. I think Nobody's Hero is a prime candidate to be played with a string section.
  6. Has anyone noticed the great guitar solo that starts (or at least rises above the other instruments) at 4:45 into the song for the last 17 seconds. Sounds awesome. Just wish we could hear more of it. Maybe in concert there wil be an extended version if we are lucky.
  7. QUOTE (Hakky2112 @ Jun 8 2012, 02:34 AM)Yes, The Garden is a sick well song. Can't help it, but it is Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Beatles, The Who, RUSH and the world in 2012 for all of us. Embrace puh leeze. Pre song headshake is optional or contingent. U decide. The Garden. Insta. Not sure if this is what you were implying but as I was listening to The Garden for what must be the 20th time at least, it occurred to me that there are few songs I enjoy so much that I can listen to them over and over like that. IMHO (and by no means am I trying to compare Rush to these bands, or even compare The Garden to the songs I will name - wouldn't want to start any new debates), I consider (but not suggesting everyone else should) The Garden to be Rush's equivalent to Floyd's Comfortably Numb, Beatles' Hey Jude. Eagles' Hotel California, Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody or (to get closer to Rush's era/genre) Queensryche's Silent Lucidity. I also feel this is the best song they have ended an album with since Natural Science on Permanent Waves.
  8. Canadian Retailers Suck - no support for their native sons. So I'm all excited to pick up the CD and DVD today and start looking online to see who has best prices. Checked Walmart, Future Shop, Best Buy and HMV websites. Only HMV even had a listing for the CD and DVD but, as usual, price was ridiculously high. So then I start calling around to see who has best price. Walmart says they have DVD in stock but have not seen any CDs. Best Buy and Future Shop have CD but no DVD in their system. So I go to Walmart and get DVD. Then go to Best Buy to get CD only to find out it's sold out. Before you get excited about it being sold out due to high demand, the woman at Customer Service tells me they only ordered 4 copies of the CD and their next order not coming in until Friday. It's insane that they only ordered 4 units for a single store in Canada - home of Rush. And if you're saying to yourself, maybe the store I went to is not representative of the order levels at stores across Canada, then perhaps I should mention I live in TORONTO for god's sake - the same damn city that has been home to all Rush members at some time and remains home to two of the three members. This store should have as many units or more than any other store. Lastly, if you want to argue that CDs and DVDs are a dying format and retailers just aren't carrying much inventory any more, it sure didn't stop the same Best Buy store from having over 15 copies OF EVERY PINK FLOYD DISCOVERY RE-ISSUE being at least a third run of the same music previously available. VERY DISAPPOINTED IN OUR CANADIAN RETAILERS!!!
  9. Anyone besides me think the band is making a mistake by committing themselves to this one venue? First they tell us we'll have a new album by this summer - NOT. Then they lock themselves into a setlist by publishing it on their website before the tour started. And now, despite some of the worst technical failures, they commit themselves to one particular concert to record for DVD? What happens WHEN Alex's guitar fails - will they edit it out and overdub the sound? Boys are getting too rigid in their plans. Should have just announced that they will be creating a DVD from this leg of the tour and leave it at that.
  10. QUOTE (danielmclark @ Jul 3 2010, 05:56 PM) They are absolutely not being sent to the box office. Many buyers had the tickets shipped to their homes and will not be going to the will call window (myself included). The tickets have already arrived. Just waiting on the VIP packages now. So confused. Are you saying that my ticket will not be at will call or the tour book will not be at will call. I ordered the VIP package via Ticketmaster and will call was the only option they gave me to pick up my tickets. Please clarify.
  11. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Premium Package includes the Tour Book too. Is this supposed to be shipped with the DVD, CD, Shirt, etc. or I am supposed to receive this at the night of the show when I go to get my ticket at will call. I have an earie feeling that the box office will tell me the tour book is supposed to be shipped to me and Live Nation/Fanfire will tell me the box office was supposed to give it to me. If anyone who has ordered the Premium Package and has been to a show yet where they picked up their tickets at the box office, did you get your tour book at the box office as well?
  12. Thanks everyone. I called Live Nation today and they claim they have still not received the merchendise from the manufacturer and don't know when it will arrive. Seems like crap to me given all of the merchandise (except possibly the limited edition shirt) is likely available at the shows.
  13. Going to be at both Toronto shows coming up in less than 2 weeks. Haven't yet received my VIP Premium Package which is supposed to include a special edition T-Shirt. If anyone has already received such T-Shirt, I'd love to know what it looks like so that I don't buy the same one when I'm at the show. Is it any of the shirts being shown here: http://www.rushbackstage.com/rushbackstage...2010/index.html
