  1. I dunno. I really enjoy the songs I mentioned but God Almighty does that album lack power or a sonic edge like a lot of the other records by other bands at that time. Thankfully they corrected course on Counterparts. I think RTB is even more wimpy sounding than HYF or Presto lol
  2. If RTB consisted only of Dreamline, Bravado, RTB, WMT? & Ghost it would be one of their best albums ever songwriting-wise. But unfortunately the other half of the record is mediocre at best. Rupert Hine's wimpy soft as a marshmallow production was insult to injury.
  3. Actually I was wrong..not a missing lyric but a very odd transition not on the original release going into the second verse. It sounds terrible actually. And it is an obvious mistake to my ears. Other than that I love the Sectors remaster of this record. More bottom end, the string section in Mission sounds glorious and some cool little guitar blasts from Alex on High Water. Explain how and when...I've listened to the sector HYF a bunch of times and never picked up on this
  4. There's a subtle difference between original and newer releases of the Exit video. The older one has audio of Geddy saying "Thank you very much...goodnight!" at the end while the newer releases have "Thank you very much Montreal! Good night!" Don't know why someone felt the need to alter it but whatever

    Vapor Trails

I'd like VT a lot more if they shaved at least 3 or 4 of the weaker songs off it. Rush's last three studio albums were all in dire need of trimming and overlong with unnecessary weaker material just to fill up space
  6. I totally agree with what one of you said about the Snakes cover. The inside photo absolutely should've been the cover photo instead of that butt ugly one they went with which looks like somebody ate a bunch of Chef Boyardee and then threw it up
  7. What lyric is missing on the sectors TSS?
  8. But Geddy once also named HYF as a "dark horse" record meaning it was overlooked and underrated in one of the many books about the band. I don't think he dislikes it overall
  9. I've wondered that too. Also on a similar note why only one video for RTB. Dreamline seemed like a no-brainer to promote the single and MTV was still relevant
  10. The original Mercury issue, the 1997 remaster or 2013 sector 2 remaster? They all sound similar. I enjoy most of the songs (insert standard issue Rush fan joke about Tai Shan) but God, that thick layer of '80s reverb over the guitars/drums/vocals which make it sound like cardboard as one person here put it
  11. I'm 99% sure the extra unused footage from the ESL/GUP/ASOH concert shoots were lost destroyed or tossed out decades ago
  12. Dreamline was always a great opener
  13. I love Neil's drum sound on FBN. Some here complained that they sound like cardboard but I've always liked them on that album. Who doesn't want to air drum like a spaz during Best I Can & Beneath Between Behind?
  14. Feedback :I *NEVER* listen to this CD and only have it because I'm a fan. I forget it even exists most of the time Snakes:Rush decides to go folk rock fusion and (except for Far Cry) end up boring their fans to tears Clockwork: Too long too dense too chaotic poor mix and Geddy can't sing well anymore
  15. Test For Echo is heavier than Vapor Trails? Those need to be switched around
  16. I enjoy bits and pieces and random moments from CA but simply can't listen to it start to finish. Its too long, loud, dense, & chaotic plus I can't understand half of what Geddy is singing
  17. Clockwork Angels is a half-baked badly produced dense mess of an album that reused the lyrical themes of Fountain Of Lamneth and 2112
  18. Oh this thread is any line from any song not just Rush. I generally enjoyed almost anything Bernie Taupin wrote for Elton John to put music to. Especially their lesser known and non-hit songs.
  19. I've always liked the sad last line from Panacea "My heart will lie beside you And my wondering body grieves..."
  20. There's a creaking noise heard like a mic stand fell over in The Twilight Zone right after the first time Geddy sings "come explore your dreams creation..."
  21. I wasn't a fan of Limelight as an opener. It's just not that type of song
  22. I've always liked the live ESL Tom Sawyer over any of them including the studio version.
  23. I think R30 was the last tour before Geddy's voice really started going downhill After that it was very hit or miss on both the studio albums and live shows The Snakes tour set list indeed a mixed bag: One part old classics they HAD to play One part obscure/rarities they hadn't played in many years or ever One part new songs from the album that you either loved or hated Plus his voice was either good or strained and cracking depending on which night you saw them. When I pop in the DVD, I just skip around to the obscure songs like Circumstances, Entre Nous , Mission etc they brought back that tour
  24. That musicintheabstract link no longer works. I mean, it technically works, but leads to some weird non-Rush related Japanese site
