  1. 7 cities is an absolutely EPIC track. Epic. The riff... I mean c'mon... Then the vocals are more killer-compelling-haunting than even Cygnus 1 or 2, c'mon!! THis album, this song, this concept is above any complete album we ever had, except (whip me now) maybe Caress of Steel. THe cohesion, tone, concept, playing, intensity yet diversity---I can only compare it overall to Hemispheres with some Signals and P/G, let alone all the other flavours. EPIC. Fan since 1981. Stoked.
  2. Well, S+A was choice, and how would we have known that Far Cry, A+S, et al. would've delivered an awesome tour where RUSH would play so many songs....from it... Now we have CA, and it is just frkng EPIC. EPIC. THis is a whole new echelon for RUSH; I had a dream (nightmare?) that I ran back to my truck at the Gorge to get my front row ticket stub...lol. Uh uhhh. CA is just a kickback, kickass retribute to the RUSH I love more than ever. This could be the best album ever....Garden is RUSH's Stairway to Heaven, IMO
  3. 1Slightly separate nerd-fest, but Show Don't Tell was easily my fave from 1989's Presto. And now Headlong Flight supplies me with such huge tenor and magnitude that I truly did not thin RUSH would again deliver. This album so frkn awesome, the title track, HF, BU2B, Caravan, Garden.... oh man, this is an era of recap for the beautiful entity of RUSH. Thank you and Amen, Salut, Doo itashimate, Salaam, Merci, Abrigado, danke and other (sic)
  4. I kinda agree with the OP too. I mean, Neil is always ahead of the curve...
  5. I just hear tons of every album...including MFH, Victor or even Buddy Rich... CA is a completion. RUSH can walk the red or golden carpet from here...IMO. Stoked for front row again...
  6. I love every song on this album...they are all with merit of several types.
  7. What I have noticed, and it is fun, are some of the double bass 16ths, or triplets? right before a major crash, kinda like Armor+Sword, and also the varied hi hat work on the X hat. I'll hopefully comment more, cuz this is a rad thread, given the content of this album!!! =) Heck, I dont even play bass, but would like to comment...LOL
  8. Wow, I am logging back in...to get my Clockwork Angels out!! THIS ALBUM IS UNREAL. CAPS. UH HUH. Ya, ya ya, old RUSH...pffft... ALL RUSH. And this has become the epitome of all RUSH for me. After S+A, I said I could be satisfied if... But NO!!! RUSH answers back with an almighty record that seemingly declares abjection to any previous release and gives us fans, ohhhh, gives us fans a truly remarkable release which, in my opinion, characterizes EVERY prior release. Thank you RUSH...press play/replay CA...
  9. The album is merely and purely unreal. Can't stop listening to it.

    The Garden

This again is true... The Garden, along with 7 cities of gold is the RUSH we deserve. That RUSH deserves. This album is fowhing sick, (sic). Awww, nice, awwww, beautiful (in the words of my 3 yr old, ELizabeth). I look fwd to the setlist...
  11. Seven cities is a freaking sick sick song yo. Yo?Well no- not a hipster. The song is just so great and epic like the rest of this CA release.
  12. I agree....what is the fuss here? What are you playing this on? A drummer since 1982, I do not here any clipping/outta synch whatsoever... Hmm
  13. I think the vocals (let alone everything else) on CA are just unreal. This album is insta-classic in my books.
  14. Haha, not to worry... the rabbits were at the sides of the stage, fairly dormant other than roadies' bumps/hip checks from behind, and an occasional kick from Geddy or Alex. I think I found the Time Machine stage setup more impressive, plus the screens; Alex's amps, Neil's globe/tubes/ the back screen. I love the solo to title track CA.
  15. Moved...like a tectonic shift from Snakes and Arrows and/or any-every other prior album... While this album took 2+ years, it ages from 40 or up to 100 years. Hint, hint....
  16. W/evs to the opposition, the Everest post of Base Camp, Halos etc... I love it! Bring on the CLockwork Angel-thusiasm! This a gift from above 28,000 feet, for sure.

    The Garden

Thanks for the piano tidbit-connection. Available light's vocals and guitar solo always gave me HUGE goosebumps, more than any ENDER until...The Garden. Nice comment, love those keys...
  18. I am so back/forth on what song is my fave, KellyD. I love everything so much more now that the hard-rocking pre-releases of Caravan/BU2B/Headlong Flight, balanced a timely and relevant delivery of precious, delicious and scrumptious mix of guitar/bass, vocals(!!!) and drums. ABSOLUTE CLASSIC. Out of the park on this one... A man could lose his past/way in an (album?) like this...? I am lost, on replay, hit me...with 7 cities of gold...
  19. This review thread has like a 80% rate of fans saying "exceeds" "beyond" "ratings" "Signals" "Moving Pictures"... Speak up people. This is the direction of the fans' feedback for this MP masterpiece. Kudos to RUSH and the fans. Who could be happier in this symbiosis? Ahh, Carnies just came on. GTG
  20. Well, ooo-obviously the power of my post in support of CA will tip the scale and dip-dump the ne'ers. I feel like I have to write a gazillion posts to convey my absolute grab of CA. Best. CAPS INTENTIONAL: CLOCKWORK ANGELS HARKENS FROM FLY BY NIGHT BEYOND THE 2012 ORBIT-PULSE OF SNAKES AND ARROWS. How does that sound?

    The Garden

Yes, The Garden is a sick well song. Can't help it, but it is Pink Floyd, Zeppelin, Beatles, The Who, RUSH and the world in 2012 for all of us. Embrace puh leeze. Pre song headshake is optional or contingent. U decide. The Garden. Insta.
  22. My daughter is 14 months now and I taught her barred chords today, plus she used R30 sticks as picks and a slide, haha. We are going acoustic to warm up for the real Clockwork Angels yet. Oh ya, PS I got tons of the show here from 11th row and better: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=AFE70B453F45A684
  23. Aww yaa, Marathon for the first time in 24 years, ooaa yeaa. This show rocked so hard I pity the phoow who has a beef, cus where;s the beef? IT'S IN THE GeFilter!!! http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=AFE70B453F45A684
  24. Haha.. 11th row-ish, I was trying for sticks with two signs and a 3x3' decorated Starman banner but my odd grey hairs might have DQ'd me...still though, I had more fun at this concert (alone) than I had expected-- since I had no attendees. Like someone else said, the setlist was even better live than on paper. ANd for me, I had absolutely no qualms with the spoiled setlist. I think RUSH has reached yet another level... Much of the show available here, grab your goggles and earphones: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=AFE70B453F45A684
  25. I have to say that comparison photograph of Ryan is hilarious
