  2. Congrats!! Glad to hear that your precious little one and the Mrs. are doing well... Best wishes that the little one continues to gain strength and the Mrs. heals quickly from her delivery.
  3. Got the FedEx today with my ticket for Lawrence Gowan, 3-12 in Niagra Falls.. paid a butload of money for that passport, finally get to use it.
  4. Styx - Pieces of Eight, the only album that I love as much or sometimes more than AFtK Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here I've also got a soft spot for Tom Petty's Full Moon Fever; Billy Joel Glass Houses and Paul Simon Graceland. A pretty eclectic group of music.
  5. Very interesting, it is a shame we don't know more about John.. funny thing is Lawrence Gowan is kind of a ramdom mention.. I just bought tickets for one of his March shows.. serendipity.
  6. QUOTE (Earthshine @ Dec 25 2010, 07:17 AM) No, Eddie IS over-rated. Like Jimi Hendrix, and Jimmy Paige. The only thing Eddie ever did that was worthwile, was Eruption. Even that was blegh. [/quote] It is spelled Page. Come on man! And he is not overrated. Nor is Hendrix. Van Halen is a fabulous guitarist no doubt. Exactly - If you're gonna dis on Pagey at least spell his name right. But I do gotta jump into the EVH is overrated camp.
  7. For those who may like bluegrass/country: http://thegreatdividemusic.com/ Apparently he's been working on this for years. I'd heard rumors of it for quite awhile, but never thought it would actually come to fruition. Not my favorite genre of music, but will check it our when released.

QUOTE (Lamelight @ Dec 12 2010, 06:13 AM) QUOTE (Wilderness_of_Mirrors @ Dec 12 2010, 03:57 AM) QUOTE (Lamelight @ Dec 11 2010, 03:42 PM) QUOTE (micgtr71 @ Dec 11 2010, 03:45 PM)QUOTE (Lamelight @ Dec 10 2010, 08:22 AM) Joy Division I like Joy Division as well. I think you're the first one I know who likes both Rush and Joy Division ME TOO!!!!! love Joy Division.....and The Smiths. I'd like to hear The Smiths. Any recommendations where I should start? If you're going to get into The Smiths, put Depeche Mode and Echo and the Bunnymen on your list also.
  9. HA!! Maybe I am going to Cleveland also?!?!?
  10. I'm going to take a different approach to this whole ticket price thing - I got 6 tickets for the Hershey show, four in row 22 and two in section 119; taking in the service fees, etc I probably dropped $800 in the space of five minutes, I purposely didn't look at the total after seeing the cost of the actual tickets. It is what it is. Buy em or stay home. Rush is the favorite band of my entire family; and we're going as a family. The oldest is 51 and the youngest is 17. When all is said and done, it will be well worth it for the time spent together doing something we all love. I'm not complaining about the cost, (I don't think the cost of the actual ticket is that exhorbitant) I'm going to be thankful that I have a good job that pays me enough that I'm able to afford the tickets.
  11. QUOTE (01GT Eibach @ Dec 1 2010, 10:52 AM) QUOTE (MCM @ Nov 30 2010, 08:42 PM) If you're in Pittsburgh, just go to Hershey. It's an easy drive down the turnpike ... I'd rather drive to Hershey than Cleveland. Isn't it twice as far to Hershey than Cleveland? I'd much rather drive only two hours to get there than four. (?) It is a longer drive I think, I just think it's an easier drive, but I'm on the east side of the city. If you're west or south of the city, I'm halfway there by the time you would even get to the turnpike.
  12. QUOTE (01GT Eibach @ Nov 30 2010, 10:42 AM) With no repeat stops for Pittsburgh slotted, it appears that Rush is going to Cleveland. That is just two hours away, and the show is in April so snow should not be a factor. I think I am due for my first road trip to Cleveland. Their "Q Arena" looks very nice. If you're in Pittsburgh, just go to Hershey. It's an easy drive down the turnpike and the Giant Center is pretty nice too. I'd rather drive to Hershey than Cleveland.
  13. QUOTE (subdivisor @ Nov 30 2010, 05:13 PM) i used musictoday presale for the first leg of the time machine tour...tix prices are about the same as tixmaster...just sign on when the sale begins and start your search for tix....very easy....goodluck, i will be on there tomorrow for the hershey presale!!!!!! Me too!! Another indoor show YEAH, the park won't be open, but at least we won't be paying a "gazillion" dollars for a hotel room.
  14. QUOTE (vitalsigns318 @ Nov 22 2010, 07:00 PM) Rush fan page pics IX ] Thanks for posting these - I saw the Dragon up towards the front during the show.. I looked and looked thru all the pictures hoping to see my family or self in the crowd - lo and behold in the second picture of the last set there three of us are.. the one with the guy in the T4Echo shirt.. my head is just above his shoulder, my one nephew (wearing his Rush Shirt from S&A) is behind the kid in the Pens shirt and my other nephew is behind him.. how very cool is that!! can't wait to show them! Pittsburgh sure was a great show!!
  15. QUOTE (Tarkus406 @ Nov 18 2010, 11:14 PM) QUOTE (MCM @ Nov 18 2010, 08:37 PM) I thought the whole concert was better than both of the S&A shows that I saw. I had really good seats at almost $100 a pop and I felt like I needed to write them an additional check when I left that show. I cut a 180 dollar check and ended up sitting at such an extreme angle I couldn't see the screen at all! Aww.. sorry to hear that, we were on the floor midway thru the second section, I would have loved to have been closer, but it was still pretty good seating. I'm taller than most girls and my nephews are practically giants so I didn't have any trouble seeing the whole stage. My brothers tickets for the same show were up on the side but about halfway back so they had good views also. I always hesitate on those side seats, you want to be close to the stage, but too close on the side can be bad. Here hoping we both get better tickets for 2011!!!

  17. QUOTE (metaldad @ Nov 15 2010, 07:03 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Nov 15 2010, 06:16 PM) QUOTE (metaldad @ Nov 15 2010, 05:09 PM) People on XM radio are saying Rush will play MSG very soon. I don't know when/why or how but.................. i'm happy for europe but i hope they don't go around again in the US. i just want them to hit europe and than get back into the studio so they can start another tour asap. than we can all get back on ship with the setlist talk. if they hit the US again it's a double dip cash grab and playing msg? maybe they think they can fill msg with the whole mp in it's entirety sell. if they play msg as the one tri state area appearance, they might fill it in and that might be their plan. don't play nj, upstate, connecticut and count on people coming in from all directions to fill in msg. EddieTrunk.com has it also. Maybe it is true Eddie Trunk posted this about 10:00 am this morning..crossing my fingers!!

  19. They are cute, in an odd and goofy kind of way.. since I work at a bank and hopefully (after the next round of interviews) will be working at a law firm, I would wear them with my business suits. Never be normal!
  20. I don't know when it started, why it started, but the clapping and "chicken dance" motion are one of my favorite parts of a show.. it's just funny that after all these years everyone knows exactly what to do there.
  21. I hope you have good weather, the boys are in fine form and will exceed your expectations with this show.
  22. QUOTE (Phantom @ Sep 30 2010, 08:53 AM) http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/showbiz/2...?iref=allsearch Nice - that Neil is a talker.
  23. I noticed it in Pittsburgh, I though "awww they've finally turned his mic on" I wondered if maybe he had some lessons in the off season?
