  1. We felt it in Pittsburgh. I'm on the 9th floor of my building and could feel the floor shaking.. peeked out my office door and everyone else was doing the same. Wasn't real bad, but was pretty unnerving.

    Best Vocals Album

I think it's HYF. His voice is in a nice middle range for that one. I love the early years, but HYF is pretty darn good.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAVAGE AMY!!! ooops, had to edit cause I can't spell. Thank you! I think it's a sweater/tight pants/knee-high boots combo... Gawd, I love the 70's! It's a whole bunch of craziness is what it is.. I approve.

  5. AFtK - first and still favorite. Christmas day 1977. Thank God for older brothers!!
  6. A friend posted the link for the Someone that I used to know video this weekend, I listened about 50 times; googled him; looked for other videos; etc.. went to iTunes got the single, got the one album they had available (Like Drawing Blood) and have been listening to it non stop for about two days now.. I'm very much into the vocal, his voice is intriguing and I love the rhythms.. I hope I like the rest of the album as much as this single. Guess you could say I was an instant fan.
  7. QUOTE (treeduck @ Aug 16 2011, 03:45 PM) I think Iommi and Geezer would be working with Glenn Hughes now instead of this if Glenn hadn't been already hooked up with Black Country Communion... Off the topic, but Glenn Hughes is on fire right now, that BCC is good stuff. As for the BS "reunion" I'm not sure what I would have thought about that, could go either way, but probably bad.. If it were true, I would think that RJD would be saying - good for you, have a ball.
  8. QUOTE (NobodysHeroine @ Aug 12 2011, 12:11 PM) QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Aug 12 2011, 12:04 PM) http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y268/rushgoober/rushlive1976.gif I've never seen that one before. Awesomeness! 70s fashion, FTW! Can you just imagine them prancing around the stage now with bell bottoms, platform shoes and their shirts unbuttoned?? I'd like to see that one.. yes??
  9. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Aug 12 2011, 01:42 AM) QUOTE (teababe27 @ Aug 11 2011, 11:35 PM)Beat me to it. RIP Jani. Warrant wasn't my favorite band of its kind, but there were several good songs. Right on Tea! I'm going through some Warrant right now. I love "Uncle Tom's Cabin!" Check it.... Heard this song on Hair Nation about two days ago and though "this should have got a lot more airplay than it did, way better than Cherry Pie" It is very sad that someone dies at 47, not much older than I am. Eventually it will probably come out that it was drug or alcohol related, we will probably never know if it was accidental or not.
  10. QUOTE (Presto-digitation @ Aug 10 2011, 01:22 PM) One wonders how many threads we need about Styx being a good band or not. They do seem to come up as a topic a lot, which I do find odd, But, then again, in my twisted world, you can't ever have too much Styx.. sooner or later one of these threads will ultimately determine that they are a good band.. right?
  11. QUOTE (Ancient Ways @ Aug 10 2011, 05:42 PM) maybe if their sex wasn;t on fire they would have less problems. Good point..
  12. I'm so very serious about my Styx, so where to begin.. PT is a great album, I don't listen to it much but when I do, then I remember what a good album it is. What came after is what was so horrible, Kilroy was so bad, I don't even own it. Dennis was such an important part of the sound of Styx, but yet I think he's the one who ultimately caused the downfall of it, (see Kilroy) Cornerstone and it's cheezy Babe were the beginning of the end for Styx. Some say Grand Illusion is their best work, I think it's Po8. Lawrence Gowan is a good replacement for Dennis, he can still sing the songs, but he doesn't really sound like Dennis. The spinning keyboards annoyed me for a long time until I saw the GI/Po8 tour last year.. after I saw him do Queen of Spades he won me over and I was a fan. Now the spinning keyboard don't seem as distracting. That's all I got, love Styx and love PT.
  13. QUOTE (GeddysMullet @ Aug 8 2011, 10:33 PM)Leather pants are nice, but at the moment, I'm all about this dang shirt! http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3076/2705719766_5d57d653d4_z.jpg Wait a minute! Let's talk about those pants!
  14. QUOTE (RUSHHEAD666 @ Aug 7 2011, 01:14 AM) Well then it was time for STYX. To be honest I wanted to leave. I've seen Styx many times in my life and wasn't feeling it. However my wife wanted to stay and watch Tommy Shaw. YEAH! Wendy, never, never, never skate out on a chance to see Tommy Shaw. Cute as a button and still the voice of an angel. Back on topic: I saw Kansas open on a triple bill last summer (Kansas, Foreigner and Styx), I was there to see Styx, Foreigner was a added bonus, and I didn't really care about Kansas.. what a surprise! They were fantastic, I was so impressed with them, they almost stole the show. They were excellent, I'd see them again in a heartbeat.
  15. Some of the best Metal footage ever shot! We used to watch this over and over.. Chris Holmes in the pool is indeed classic (but sad) footage, I think I read recently he's clean now.. We used to re-enact the Ozzy scene while we cooked breakfast after a night of drinking.. none of us could ever cook eggs as good as he.. we used to know that scene word for word.. Is that the scene where Steven Tyler talks about snorting Peru up his nose? Go back ad re-visit Faster Pussycat, I was listening to them the other day, they seem to have gotten better with age..
  16. QUOTE (SavageAmy @ Jul 23 2011, 12:21 PM) http://i1143.photobucket.com/albums/n639/savageamy/counterparts-39-1.jpg I logged on to look at the Geddy thread, but no posts for over a day!!! Here I shall repost someone else's photos so Ged doesn't get left behind..

    Rush fans are we

I thought maybe we were a little over the top, until I saw a guy at the U2 concert wearing hes license plate around his neck in a string. It said U2BROTHA. Nope, we're normal.
  18. Voted LaVilla, gotta have Ged's vocals.
  19. QUOTE (Khan @ Aug 4 2011, 09:08 AM) I gotta say we had a great time at the show last nigt. Journey was great, but I must also say that I think Foreigner kicked some serious ass....Mick Jones can still tear it up big time. Even though he is the only remaining original member, they were fantastic. I listened to the live radio feed of this show last night, Foreigner did sound great. Arnel sounded tired thru the first three or four songs. He picked up towards the middle and finished strong tho. It was kind of a short setlist, I expected a longer set from them as the headliner. I gotta admit that Journey didn't sound as good as I thought but theory is the radio feed was prior to the mixing board, who knows.. I've got the boot of it from rapidshare and am looking forward to the show here in Pittsburgh. Glad to hear you had a good time. How was Night Ranger?
  20. I got it from iTunes, check there.
  21. Obvious: 2112/AFtK/Hemispheres
