  1. Off topic but, I have an extra 4th row center ticket for PNC in Holmdel, NJ for Friday, 21 September's gig. My friend was supposed to fly in from Wisconsin for the show, but can't make it due to work scheduling conflicts. Anyone interested in the details, let me know. Bad part is you have to sit next to me!
  2. I picked up the new album, "Tempest" today. It is fantastic from start to finish. I would recommend this one highly!
  3. QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Sep 10 2012, 02:05 PM) drbirdsong, ReGorLaTroy... I enjoy you're "not take it so seriously" outlook, one I don't use often enough. It's time I sit back, relax, not let little stuff get to me, and enjoy the forum... Thanks Mr. Is Not, I love your current icon. I have everything the Galactic Cowboys have ever done. Wally Farkus is a genius! ~Peace, Love, Rush RGLT
  4. QUOTE (Smegger68 @ Sep 8 2012, 01:11 PM) The album is badly MASTERED, not badly PRODUCED. Nothing to do with Nick R, all to do with Brian G. Ladies and Gentlemen, we have ourselves a winner! The album is nothing short of amazing and it stands should to shoulder with their best, in my opinion. Again, in my opinion, the album is no where near as "polished" as it should be. A killer record that just sounds a bit muddy...this hasn't stopped me from listening to it over and over and over and over again since it's release. It won't be long as we hear members of the band saying the same things about Clockwork Angels' sound as they do about the sound of Vapor Trails now. Both fine albums in their own right, of course. That being said, I am old, I am grumpy, cranky, bitter, nasty and tired.
  5. QUOTE (Ya_Big_Tree @ Sep 8 2012, 08:39 AM) I change mine when I change my hair usually. Red was Lauren Ambrose, blonde was Marilyn Monroe and now it's Joan Jett. I love that picture of Joan Jett... ...she is so incredibly underrated, btw.
  6. QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Sep 9 2012, 02:55 PM) Download available yet? Or did I miss it? Thanks a lot for this, this is awesome Mr Is Not... I love your icon... ...I love the Galatic Cowboys.
  7. Happy 8th Anniversary, Cygnus!
  8. QUOTE (kentpilot @ Sep 10 2012, 12:13 PM) QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 10 2012, 12:07 PM) Kent, Can you please take the day off from work or school and get back to work on this? You can eat, sleep, shower, watch TV, check your e-mail & Facebook, exercise, see your family and friends when you are finished young man! Thanks in advance. Signed, all of us here. OK, well maybe not everyone, but at least me and the good Doctor Birdsong I actually got I think food poisoning(was vomiting this moring) didn't go to school and off work til Wednesday! hahaha! I'm back to work now! So, you are saying that we should be happy that you have food poisoning? Seriously, I hope you feel better and thanks again.
  9. QUOTE (metaldad @ Sep 10 2012, 12:07 PM) Outdoors i think you are good to go. I think it's way to young for arena shows . Agreed, arena shows are so loud, and often very hot. I also don't think ear plugs would even be suitable enough. I do applaud you wanting to share this experience with your kids. I think MetalDad is right, I'd wait until the next tour and they do pavillion gigs like PNC, etc.
  10. QUOTE (kentpilot @ Sep 10 2012, 12:09 PM) QUOTE (drbirdsong @ Sep 10 2012, 09:16 AM) I'm just bumping to try to keep this thread on the first page because too many crybabies keep starting threads. Geez could we put on Xanadu pass out some Xanax please. Don't worry guys i'm still working. Last night I tried uploading the first CD to mediafire, and even after paying the money to upgrade to pro, it wouldn't let me do it, I asked for a refund and even after using their service for only 3 hours they said NO. So I've switched over to Dropbox(bit slower more reliable) used them before happy with it. So it's uploading FLAC files now, I'm transferring the .wav files to mp3 got a couple request to do so, and I'm still updating the sound cloud along with the fact it will be on grooveshark soon, don't worry folks I'm still working on it. Didn't expect all the interest, and I'm glad you're happy with my hobby. It's labor of love! Working on Manhattan Project now. http://i.imgur.com/IKiS2.jpg YEA!!!!!!!!!! And the crowd rejoiced as the young KentPilot continued!... ...you rock brother!!!

  12. Maybe he went just a few years back in the Time Machine to when he had a little more hair. Don't you get the weird feeling that someone will start a "Alex, better player with hair or without?" thread?
  13. QUOTE (gangsterfurious @ Sep 10 2012, 10:13 AM) Just another thought. When I go to church we stand to worship. You only sit down if you're old, disabled, or not feeling so hot. Otherwise it is considered disrespectful to sit. And to me, going to a Rush concert is almost like going to church, soooo... I wouldn't want to be disrespectful now would I?
  14. QUOTE (Mr. IsNot @ Sep 9 2012, 09:06 PM) QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 9 2012, 07:04 PM) It's funny because ever since I've heard this song, I've been able to deal with those "difficult" people in my life by thinking or saying under my breath, "wish them well." It's a great life philosophy when you use it correctly. I obviously don't use it here No reason you can't have some fun with it. Life is short, you have to have fun!

  18. I think I like this set list because it is so unexpected. OK, I expected much of CA to be played. But who would have guessed the rest? I have been a fan since A Farewell to Kings and am just happy to see them live. Call me a fanboi, but I don't really care what they play, I just love seeing them live. Not too mention, like most bands that I have grown up and old with, I am just happy that they are still around, making relevent music and still touring. As long as they continue doing so, I will continue to plunk down my hard earned dough to see them.
  19. I'm about half way through my listen of this. I must admit, I am really enjoying it. I love the (oh so many) little Rush song references. Good fun.
  20. Welcome, I love this place and I'm sure you will too! ~Peace, Love, Rush RGLT
  21. QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Sep 9 2012, 07:45 PM) QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Sep 9 2012, 07:42 PM) QUOTE (iluvgeddy05 @ Sep 9 2012, 07:41 PM) They played Working Man. Quite well too. now there's a tune we haven't heard in a while. Psh. I could listen to Alex's live solo in that everyday for the rest of my life. I so agree! Hearing/seeing this live just blows me away time and after time after time. Alex just kills on this. This song, in my opinion, should always be on the setlist!
  22. Cool...I'm seeing the shows in Newark and Brooklyn...both sets!!!
  23. QUOTE (Snaked @ Sep 9 2012, 06:25 PM) TL,DR wall of text. I'm an "old guy" and I love the setlist. +1
  24. You should stand...you should always stand at a rock concert. It is almost disrespectful, in my opinion, to the band to not do so.
  25. QUOTE (kentpilot @ Sep 9 2012, 06:34 PM) QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Sep 9 2012, 06:33 PM) Kent, Thanks so much, I've downloaded "Grand Designs" so far and it sounds great. I know it is a lot of work, but know that there are a lot of Rush brothers and sisters here who really, really, really appreciate your time and efforts! ~Peace, Love, Rush, RGLT Thanks so much for the kind words! It keeps me going! PS...I'm pretty old school, so I appreciate the MP3...you rock!
