  1. Saw it with my teen boys and wife. Pretty good. Worth the matinee price. No twists in the plot at all but the story was well paced and some of the camera shots were very cool ( i like that kind of stuff).
  2. A friend bought me a subscription for RS last year and I could not read it. It was soooooo politically driven and focused on the latest BIG thing in music, most fo which I consider pop-garbage, not rock-n-roll. They can suck my ass.
  3. Very sad. I'm sure both journalists will be missed many
  4. QUOTE (ReflectedLight @ Apr 20 2011, 08:47 AM) i like acoustic pieces but on the time machine tour i was really hoping he was going to pull out broon's bane. Broon's Bane is one of my single, all-time, favorite, pieces of music. L-O-V-E it.
  5. QUOTE (briremo @ Apr 20 2011, 02:39 PM) Incredible videos. I'm getting me one of them thar cameras! Watching this video and many others has given me pause however because I'm wondering how the DVD is going to look with the film crew's cameras looking at the crowd and hundreds of mini camcorders looking back at them. LOL! no working man? WHen I saw them on the last date of the 2010 tour Alex was on fire!

  7. QUOTE (The Owl @ Apr 15 2011, 05:35 PM) It's happening Pete Jackson has released the first Vlog on the production of The Hobbit.. check it out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2LUJfLPmiCs...embedded#at=101 damn, ya beat me to it!
  8. im going to see it regardless of how bad it sucks.
  9. Think they already played Boston last leg right?
  10. The Snakes and Arrows tour was noticeably slower paced on most songs IMO. I think they're just back up to where it should be. Does it have to do with them kicking out the click tracks they used (as montioned in BTLS) prior to S&A and now they're using them again? I wonder.....
  11. I found the new 5.1 to be unimaginative on the channel mixing. Resolution was great, if not too great. It was extremely revealing on Ged's voice, which to me sounded strained on some songs. I do have a fairly higher end system.
  12. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 7 2011, 12:06 AM) QUOTE (briremo @ Mar 6 2011, 11:45 PM) I hated this movie, worst two hours of my life. not funny Really?!?!?!?! really, sorry. i think i laughed once and i am big fan of subtle humor. I thought this movie lacked so much. I thought it was tired and lacked originality. But, maybe i was having a bad day.
  13. I hated this movie, worst two hours of my life. not funny
  14. I need a ticket. I also live in Orlando area so if anyone wants to car pool we can do that as well. looking for floor seat...HELP!
  15. I bought the polo shirt from the TM tour, which looks friggin amazing on me and I almost always get a knowing nod or smile from some equally socially inept dweeb. I also have the RUSH lighting bolts T shirt from this tour and wear it to the gym at least twice a week and got comments from about 5 guys initially and my 20 something female trainer (i know, right! ). But that all died of months ago. The polo is what gets em
  16. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Feb 21 2011, 08:51 AM) I missed this one in the theaters and then I watched it by chance one night on HBO and thought it was amazing. Must have watched it 5 times everytime HBO re-aired it. Agreed with previous posting, very thought provoking...interesting Hollywood take on faith vs. religion. If you haven't seen this one, you really should check it out. SPOILERS I honestly did not see this as a faith based movie, as much as I was hoping it was. AS a matter of fact, I think the producers made a clear point that A) "the book" was only as important as any other book and Eli had no divine mission as he was not impervious to death. However the point can be made that he was able to finish his quest with divine intervention...or maybe it was just his own belief that powered his body, and C) Oldman's character was a metaphor for every stereotypical power hungry preacher that only wants to manipulate people for his own benefit. To me it was only a slightly gentler standard portrayal of any christian religious themes. I did love the movie though
  17. QUOTE (vols1118 @ Feb 20 2011, 01:48 PM) I live in Florida and in my honest opinion, it would have benefited the band and residents better if they performed in central Florida (Orlando) rather then as far south as they are. The states long and many people I know who have seen them in the past are holding out and hoping for dates in Orlando or Jacksonville. Fellow Orlando area resident agrees 100%. For crying out loud they just finished the tour 5 months ago in south florida. They should have done Jacksonville.
  18. Yeah I was going to say nobody really mentioned the streaming and it is very convenient. You can do it on the Xbox, Wii, PS3 and new AppleTV! Some new Bluray players allow you to stream and some TV's even have a wifi connection to allow this also! Only downside to Netflix is the catalog is too thin IMHO. I'd like to see more stuff in there.
  19. I really liked this movie. Gary Oldman was great, of course.
  20. QUOTE (syrinxpriest 2112 @ Jan 27 2011, 11:56 AM) You know, those scenes that just leave you with that feeling of, "Damn, that was badass." One of my favorites, from Collateral: Yo homie, is that my briefcase? What are your favorite "badass" scenes? is that good movie? Always wondered if it was a watch...
  21. QUOTE (troutman @ Jan 16 2011, 09:56 PM) Roy Clark, A guest on the Odd Couple. AWESOME!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqnU83wPmfc&feature=related WOW
  22. I really don't understand someone hating country music. I guess some people are have predetermined notions and are not capable of learning. Of course the same could be said for clams. I hate 'em, wife loves 'em. To me country music is the only genre that consentrates on the art of story telling. It delves into the good things in life and what's important and it generally has a positive outlook on life, which is something a lot of people could use more of. When I listen to RATM (which I love) scream about how they're being oppressed and then I compare it to some Kenny Chesney's "The Good Stuff" and you hear about what's really important in life. There's enough BS in life to bring to bring you down all the time. I want something uplifting somtimes. And country music can fill the bill. Much like RUSH does
  23. Fascinating piece of work. Heart wrenching too.
  24. although this tour had some dud songs, this tour was ELECTRIC! the encore is worth the price of the DVD alone. so is all of MP
