  1. im going to see it regardless of how bad it sucks.
  2. Think they already played Boston last leg right?
  3. The Snakes and Arrows tour was noticeably slower paced on most songs IMO. I think they're just back up to where it should be. Does it have to do with them kicking out the click tracks they used (as montioned in BTLS) prior to S&A and now they're using them again? I wonder.....
  4. QUOTE (ReRushed @ Mar 7 2011, 12:06 AM) QUOTE (briremo @ Mar 6 2011, 11:45 PM) I hated this movie, worst two hours of my life. not funny Really?!?!?!?! really, sorry. i think i laughed once and i am big fan of subtle humor. I thought this movie lacked so much. I thought it was tired and lacked originality. But, maybe i was having a bad day.
  5. I hated this movie, worst two hours of my life. not funny
  6. I need a ticket. I also live in Orlando area so if anyone wants to car pool we can do that as well. looking for floor seat...HELP!
  7. I bought the polo shirt from the TM tour, which looks friggin amazing on me and I almost always get a knowing nod or smile from some equally socially inept dweeb. I also have the RUSH lighting bolts T shirt from this tour and wear it to the gym at least twice a week and got comments from about 5 guys initially and my 20 something female trainer (i know, right! ). But that all died of months ago. The polo is what gets em
  8. QUOTE (ReGorLaTroy @ Feb 21 2011, 08:51 AM) I missed this one in the theaters and then I watched it by chance one night on HBO and thought it was amazing. Must have watched it 5 times everytime HBO re-aired it. Agreed with previous posting, very thought provoking...interesting Hollywood take on faith vs. religion. If you haven't seen this one, you really should check it out. SPOILERS I honestly did not see this as a faith based movie, as much as I was hoping it was. AS a matter of fact, I think the producers made a clear point that A) "the book" was only as important as any other book and Eli had no divine mission as he was not impervious to death. However the point can be made that he was able to finish his quest with divine intervention...or maybe it was just his own belief that powered his body, and C) Oldman's character was a metaphor for every stereotypical power hungry preacher that only wants to manipulate people for his own benefit. To me it was only a slightly gentler standard portrayal of any christian religious themes. I did love the movie though
  9. QUOTE (vols1118 @ Feb 20 2011, 01:48 PM) I live in Florida and in my honest opinion, it would have benefited the band and residents better if they performed in central Florida (Orlando) rather then as far south as they are. The states long and many people I know who have seen them in the past are holding out and hoping for dates in Orlando or Jacksonville. Fellow Orlando area resident agrees 100%. For crying out loud they just finished the tour 5 months ago in south florida. They should have done Jacksonville.
  10. Yeah I was going to say nobody really mentioned the streaming and it is very convenient. You can do it on the Xbox, Wii, PS3 and new AppleTV! Some new Bluray players allow you to stream and some TV's even have a wifi connection to allow this also! Only downside to Netflix is the catalog is too thin IMHO. I'd like to see more stuff in there.
  11. I really liked this movie. Gary Oldman was great, of course.
  12. QUOTE (syrinxpriest 2112 @ Jan 27 2011, 11:56 AM) You know, those scenes that just leave you with that feeling of, "Damn, that was badass." One of my favorites, from Collateral: Yo homie, is that my briefcase? What are your favorite "badass" scenes? is that good movie? Always wondered if it was a watch...
  13. QUOTE (troutman @ Jan 16 2011, 09:56 PM) Roy Clark, A guest on the Odd Couple. AWESOME!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oqnU83wPmfc&feature=related WOW
  14. I really don't understand someone hating country music. I guess some people are have predetermined notions and are not capable of learning. Of course the same could be said for clams. I hate 'em, wife loves 'em. To me country music is the only genre that consentrates on the art of story telling. It delves into the good things in life and what's important and it generally has a positive outlook on life, which is something a lot of people could use more of. When I listen to RATM (which I love) scream about how they're being oppressed and then I compare it to some Kenny Chesney's "The Good Stuff" and you hear about what's really important in life. There's enough BS in life to bring to bring you down all the time. I want something uplifting somtimes. And country music can fill the bill. Much like RUSH does
  15. Fascinating piece of work. Heart wrenching too.
  16. although this tour had some dud songs, this tour was ELECTRIC! the encore is worth the price of the DVD alone. so is all of MP
  17. QUOTE (WorkingMan2112 @ Jan 6 2011, 03:01 PM) This past fall was my first RUSH show and went because I got my dad tickets for Father's Day. At the concert I immediately realized I could listen to this band for now on and hope to expand my collection of their CD's soon. I'm a younger fan and also a new member here but I am kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to this CD coming out. Good on ya buddy!
  18. Seriously Steve? You think after just 40 US tour dates they'd just bag the whole MP tour and start fresh? It's one of the best stage shows and productions they've done in years, or ever, and you're surprised they're gonna stick with it? They did Snakes and Arrows for two years also...
  19. I'm psyched as is the whole family. Granted it's not LOST or even near it but it has some interesting metaphors in the story line. I LOVE the whole immigration and health care thing that permeates the show and the cautionary tale that nothing is free.
  20. QUOTE (Presto_a RUSH fan_06-08-90 @ Jan 1 2011, 07:11 AM) QUOTE (briremo @ Dec 31 2010, 09:04 PM) I'm gonna agree with everyone here. The guy has serious chops. I put him up there with Gary Oldman. The Score was the DeNiro film right? And Primal Fear was the Vatican thing I think...hmmm off to IMDB Yep, "The Score" had DeNiro. Such a great movie, and unbelievably DeNiro is upstaged by Norton. Here is the IMDB plot summary for "Primal Fear". If you haven't seen it this doesn't have any spoilers. I guarantee if you like a good suspenseful drama, you will LOVE "Primal Fear". Richard Gere plays opposite Norton. Primal Fear Courtroom thriller about a slick, hotshot lawyer who takes the seemingly unwinnable case of a young altar boy accused of murdering an eminent catholic priest. An arrogant, high-powered attorney takes on the case of a poor altar boy found running away from the scene of the grisly murder of the bishop who has taken him in. The case gets a lot more complex when the accused reveals that there may or may not have been a "third person" in the room during the murder. The intensity builds when a surprise twist alters everyone's perception of the crime and what really happened. Yep, I've seen that, that's what I meant about the vatican; Foggy Memory That was a great flick!
  21. QUOTE (KenJennings @ Jan 2 2011, 11:47 PM) QUOTE (briremo @ Jan 2 2011, 09:53 PM) QUOTE (KenJennings @ Jan 2 2011, 04:40 AM) I got Inception and The A Team on Blu Ray for Christmas, and I have to say, I actually enjoyed the A Team a lot more. While this was my second time seeing Inception, I found myself EXTREMELY disappointed on my second viewing. I caught nothing new, and I found no deeper meaning than what was obvious on the first viewing. Maybe I just don't get it, but Inception was really a let down after the hype leading up to it. A Team, on the other hand, was fun as hell. LOl! Surprising to hear this from you in some ways. From most of your posts Ive read, I presumed a more intellectually challenging display to be up your alley. Although I haven't seen The A-Team, I've heard it is fun and I'm sure 90 minutes of explosions will get me off as well. But I found Inception to be really enveloping and I just love a flick that begs you to listen and think a bit. I doubt Barachus and the boyZ will require too much of that. Hey, I love Stone Crab and Cheese-doodles. But not together. The A-Team was certainly no mind-bending brain burner, but the skill in that movie was their trueness to the original form. I really enjoyed seeing the distorted physics of the original (which were due to budget restrictions) re-created with modern big-budget technology- they didn't make the movie look perfect, and the imperfection is there in all the right ways. The feel, the attitude, the cheese, it's all there from the original, and all the parts were cast very well. I enjoyed it thoroughly, and recommend it to anyone else who grew up on Hannibal, Murdock, Baraccas, and Faceman. Inception, while a clever film, just struck me as 'trying to hard'. I understand that the movie is built on several layers of intricacies that tie together very well; but it all seemed so forced. I felt a lack of subtlety and mystique... even though that's what I was told specifically to look forward to. I'm really not trying to knock Inception, because it IS clever, and I did enjoy watching it. I just didn't appreciate everything they tried to do, I felt like it was unnecessarily complicated, and lacked a natural 'flow'. It's like Dream Theater; I love Dream Theater for their technical ability and musicmanship: they're one of my favorite bands. But sometimes Dream Theater's technical touch turns into directionless wankery. That's what Inception felt like; it almost felt like a film maker showing off just to show off. Sometimes you just want something more seemless, more pure of heart... like Porcupine Tree. Do you think maybe you feel this way because they took so much effort to explain everything as they went along? I kind of feel that in a way. I love it when things just unfold in your mind, the director gives you the events, but you figure out the story...what's really going on. Like at the end of American Beauty (SPOILER!) when Spacey dies with a smile on his face. His wife didn't walk in and say "Oh at least you died happy when the guy next door shot you because you finally had a cathartic moment when you realized you love your life and now I'm going to go throw myself into your clothes because I can;t stand the thought of life without you and boy I really f*cked up."?
  22. I'm curious about the opening show in Ft Lauderdale. They finished the US tour in West Palm Beach literally 45 minutes away (with traffic ). So just about any RUSH fan in South Florida from Miami to Orlando went. I'm from Orlando and everyone around us was from Ft Lauderdale and Miami already! I think about 9,000 were there. I don't see any way this one gets anywhere close to selling out! I wanted them to play Jacksonville so all the North Florida and So GA fans could see them. Stupid in my mind.

  24. Sweet, I'll check it out. I do think that BD was a bit polished but EC puts out amazingly clean albums that are very dynamic and I LOVE HIS STUFF. He has a way of making a great sounding record. From the Cradle being one of my favs. Now I need to go stand on my Candlebox soapbox.
  25. QUOTE (The Owl @ Jan 1 2011, 10:44 PM) I have seen this move 3 times now...... This film without a doubt has clinched a spot in my top 10 of all time, If I think about it, perhaps my top 5.... The second of Nolan's flims in my top 10
